Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address all three requested points: you say the problem began after a new neighbour arrived last weekend, explain that the noise affects your sleep and ability to work, and ask the agency to intervene and introduce rules. These details make the purpose of the letter clear. However, some ideas are only briefly stated or unclear, such as “make it for solution” and what specific action the agency should take. The request would be stronger if you asked directly for the agency to contact the neighbour and ensure gaming noise is reduced after a stated time. The opening and closing are present, but the greeting and sign-off should use standard formal-letter conventions. Overall, the task is covered, though the request and supporting details need clearer development.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response contains a recognisable sequence: it introduces the complaint, explains when it began, describes its effects, and makes a request. This helps the reader follow the main purpose. However, the ideas are crowded into long, loosely connected sections, and transitions such as “IN this case” and “AND” do not create smooth links. The sentence beginning “Eveything was clam…” combines the timeline and the effect on you without a clear boundary, while the final request repeats the hope that the agency will act. Use separate paragraphs for the background, impact, and requested action, and connect them with simple, accurate transitions. Clearer sentence boundaries and less repetition would make the progression easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant vocabulary for the complaint, including “video games,” “late night,” “good sleep,” “interfere,” and “rules,” so the reader can identify the issue and your desired response. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make parts difficult to understand, for example “seviere voice,” “noic,” “situvation,” and “praivacy.” Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “make it for solution” and “take care of the proplm.” Choose precise collocations such as “excessive noise,” “disturb my sleep,” and “resolve the issue,” and check spelling carefully. More accurate vocabulary would help you express the complaint and proposed action without ambiguity.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt to communicate several connected ideas, including when the noise starts and how it affects your sleep and work. However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and attempts to form longer sentences often contain errors that make the relationships between ideas unclear. For example, “the new neighbour who came the last weekend the problms started” lacks a clear main clause, and “since every night after 11oclock its started” has an unclear tense and sentence structure. There are also problems with articles, agreement, and punctuation, as in “the video games plays” and the run-on sections joined by commas. Practise writing complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, then use accurate past and present forms to distinguish when the problem began from when it occurs.
