Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address the three requested points: you say the neighbours arrived “last month,” explain that the noise prevents you from sleeping before an early shift, and ask the agency to take action. These details make the complaint relevant and understandable. However, the request to “shift these boys to soundproof flat” is not very practical or clearly explained, and the letter does not specify what action you would prefer the agency to take, such as contacting the tenants or enforcing quiet hours. The response is also three words below the required minimum, so the complaint and requested solution remain under-developed. Develop the impact and propose a clear, reasonable next step for the agency.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The information follows a generally sensible order: you introduce the neighbours and the noise, describe its effect on your sleep, then make a request. The time references, including “last month” and “from past month,” also help the reader understand when the issue began. However, the response is presented as two long paragraphs, with several ideas joined together in ways that make the progression less smooth. For example, the sentence beginning “As a porfaction” combines your job, shift time, and sleep problem without clear punctuation. Use separate paragraphs for the background, impact, and requested action, and connect them with clear transitions such as “As a result” and “Therefore.”
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant vocabulary for a complaint, including “loud volume,” “sleep,” “shift,” and “request,” so the main situation can be understood. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make parts of the letter difficult to read, such as “residental,” “nebhours,” “sturgling,” and “noisey weather.” Some expressions are also unnatural: “play videos games on very loud volume” and “soundproof flat” do not communicate your meaning precisely. Choose common, accurate collocations such as “play video games at a high volume” and “move them to a soundproofed flat” (though a more realistic request would be to ask the agency to contact them). Proofreading spelling would improve clarity.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt to combine ideas in longer sentences, for example, “I was move here last year since last month everything was fine,” but these structures are often faulty and make the timeline difficult to follow. Verb forms and tense control need attention: “I was move” should be “I moved,” while “my shift start” needs subject–verb agreement. There are also errors with articles and sentence boundaries, as in “in th morning” and the run-on sentence beginning “I was move here last year.” Most sentences communicate the basic meaning, but the frequent errors and limited range reduce accuracy. Practise writing shorter, complete sentences first, then add accurate clauses using “because” or “as a result.”
