I hope you are doing well. I am writing to inform you about my neighbour who rents their flat from the same agency and plays very loud video games late at night.

The problem started about two weeks ago, I noticed my neighbour he plays very loud video games late at night. Sometimes, the souns until 2:00 am at the midnight.

I would like to tell you the noise effects me, beacuse I need to focus my studies and get up early. I also need to have a peaceful mind because I am preparing my exam the next. but the speaker affects the vibration to my room surroundings.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify the late-night gaming and explain that it began about two weeks ago, and you give relevant effects: difficulty studying, needing to get up early, and disturbance from vibration. You also ask the agency for assistance. However, the request is vague: specify an action, such as contacting the neighbour or enforcing quiet hours. The effects and timeline are only briefly described, so the main ideas remain under-developed. The response also contains 118 words, which is 32 words below the required 150-word minimum; this leaves limited space to address each bullet fully. Add concrete details, such as how often the noise occurs and what outcome you expect.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The letter has a recognisable structure: an opening that states the purpose, separate paragraphs for the problem and its effects, and a closing request. This helps the reader follow the general message. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, particularly in “The problem started about two weeks ago, I noticed my neighbour he plays…” and the sentence about the speaker affecting the room. The ideas are also connected with a small, repetitive set of links, such as “I also” and “I would like.” Use clearer sentence boundaries and organise the details in a sequence: when the noise occurs, how it affects you, then the specific action you want.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the basic issue, including “video games,” “late at night,” “focus my studies,” and “peaceful mind.” However, the range is limited, and several inaccurate word choices or spelling errors make parts less clear. “The souns” is difficult to interpret, while “the noise effects me” uses the wrong form for the intended meaning. “The speaker affects the vibration to my room surroundings” is also an unclear description. Choose precise phrases such as “the sound carries into my flat” or “the vibrations can be felt in my room.” Proofreading spelling and selecting natural collocations would make the complaint clearer and more formal.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, and the reader can generally understand the purpose of the letter. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. For example, “I noticed my neighbour he plays” has an unnecessary repeated subject, and the comma after “two weeks ago” joins two complete thoughts incorrectly. In “I need to focus my studies and get up early,” the sentence structure is incomplete for the intended meaning; use “focus on my studies.” The fragment “but the speaker affects…” also needs to be joined or rewritten as a complete sentence. Practise accurate sentence boundaries and build longer sentences from correctly formed clauses.
