Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You identify the central issue—your neighbour plays loud video games during rest hours—and explain that it affects your ability to rest, focus, and work effectively. You also make a request for the agency to speak to the neighbour and establish quiet hours. However, the task is only partially addressed: you do not say when the problem began, and the requested action is not expressed clearly or consistently. The phrase “ask him to do less noises” is vague, while the suggestion to discuss a schedule and the preferred 10 p.m. limit is difficult to interpret. State when the noise started and make one direct, practical request, such as asking the agency to contact the neighbour and enforce quiet hours.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The letter follows a generally understandable sequence: you introduce yourself and the problem, describe its effects, and then ask the agency to act. Linking expressions such as “Unfortunately” and “as” help connect some ideas. However, most of the message is presented in one long paragraph, so the shift from the complaint to the requested solution is not clearly marked. The sentence beginning “i was wondering if you could kindly ask him” contains several ideas joined together, making the request hard to follow. Use separate paragraphs for the problem and its effects, then the action you want, and divide long sentences into clearer units. This would make the overall progression easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some relevant language for a formal complaint, including “worried,” “strong sense of stress,” “respectful environment,” and “discuss.” These choices show an attempt to express both the impact and a constructive solution. However, several word choices, collocations, and spelling errors make parts of the message unclear or unnatural, such as “making noises,” “my prestation,” “pacefull,” and “misundertunding.” The phrase “do less noises” also does not express the intended request naturally. Aim for precise, conventional expressions for noise complaints, and check spelling carefully. For example, describe the neighbour as “playing video games loudly” and say that the noise is affecting your “work performance” or “concentration.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a reason clause in “as i have to working the following days” and a conditional request beginning “if you could kindly ask him.” However, errors in verb forms, agreement, and sentence construction are frequent enough to make some parts difficult to understand. Examples include “i’ve rent,” “my neighbour are,” “as him play,” and “i will waiting.” The long request sentence also lacks clear grammatical control and punctuation. Practise accurate present perfect and present simple forms, such as “I have rented” and “my neighbour is playing,” and use a clear structure for requests: “Could you please contact my neighbour and ask him to keep the noise down after 10 p.m.?”
