Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address all three requested points: you explain that the neighbour arrived recently, describe the effect on your sleep and wellbeing, and ask the agency to resolve the issue by speaking with the manager. The purpose of the letter is clear and the details are relevant. However, the timing is vague: “from recent month” does not establish when the noise began, and the request could be more specific about the action you expect, such as contacting the neighbour and enforcing quiet hours. Some effects, including the claims about depression and listening ability, are not clearly explained. Developing these points more precisely would make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter has a recognisable progression from introducing the problem, to describing its effects, to making a request. Connectors such as “Additionally,” “Furthermore,” and “Moreover” help signal added information, and the closing is separated from the main complaint. This gives the response a coherent overall arrangement. However, the effects are grouped into one long paragraph, and the repeated additive transitions make the progression feel somewhat mechanical. The relationship between some details is also unclear, particularly the move from poor sleep to “listening ability.” Use clearer paragraphing for the problem, its consequences, and the requested action, and vary linking devices so that connections between ideas are more precise.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some vocabulary relevant to the complaint, including “loud,” “noise,” “peacefull rest,” and “resolve,” so the reader can identify the main issue. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make parts difficult to understand: “appaertment,” “vedio,” “routeen,” and “roughfly” are examples. Some phrases are also unnatural or unclear, such as “daily night routeen,” “listening ability of body,” and “leads depression.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations rather than repeating general terms such as “effecting” and “impacts.” More precise language for sleep disruption and the agency’s intervention would improve clarity and control.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, for example, “Additionally, it also effecting my behaviour due to lack peacefull rest.” However, many sentences are not grammatically complete or accurately formed, which sometimes makes the intended meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “a person came for accomodation very next to our room,” “he stared to play,” and “it causing major impacts.” These show problems with articles, verb forms, and sentence construction. Punctuation and capitalisation are also inconsistent, particularly at the starts of sentences and in the closing. Practise forming complete sentences with a clear subject and correctly conjugated verb, then check tense and punctuation.
