Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address all three required points: you say the noise began when new neighbours moved in two months ago, explain that it disrupts your medical studies before an exam, and ask the agency to issue a notice. The complaint is relevant and your request is understandable. The opening also gives useful context about having lived there for seven months. However, the effect on you could be developed more clearly—for example, explain whether the noise prevents sleep as well as studying—and the request is somewhat vague: specify the action you want, such as contacting the neighbours and asking them to keep the volume down at night. The closing and some details are also unclear, so the letter does not yet develop every point equally fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter has a recognisable structure, with separate paragraphs for the background, the impact of the noise, and your request. This helps the reader follow the main purpose, and the sequence from the neighbours’ arrival to your attempt to speak with them is logical. Some linking is effective, such as “But in last 2 months” and “so,” although transitions are sometimes awkward or unclear. The final request and closing run together, and the sentence about other residents is difficult to follow. Use clearer paragraph boundaries and connect ideas with precise transitions; for instance, state the requested action in its own paragraph, then add a brief, conventional closing. This would make the progression smoother and referencing clearer.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the situation, including “neighbour,” “video games,” “loud,” “medical student,” and “exams.” There are also attempts at more formal complaint language, such as “request” and “consider my complaint.” However, spelling errors and inaccurate word choices are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause: “latter” for “letter,” “prombles,” “maintance,” and “compaint.” Some phrases are also unnatural, including “loud voice,” “unwanted noise,” and “disturbance noise.” Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common collocations such as “play video games at a high volume” and “noise disturbance.” A more precise range would make the complaint sound clearer and more appropriately formal.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a sentence explaining that you tried to speak to the neighbours but the noise resumed. The main message is generally recoverable, but grammatical errors occur across the letter and sometimes make relationships between ideas unclear. Examples include “I am living this appartment so long,” “it is being 7 months now,” and “i can not fullfil my all studies”; these show problems with tense, sentence construction, and word order. There are also missing or incorrect articles and agreement in phrases such as “new neighbour leasing my next door flat.” Use straightforward, complete sentences first, then add complex clauses with accurate tense and punctuation. Proofreading capitalisation and sentence boundaries would also improve control.
