Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address all three requested points: you say the neighbour arrived “one week ago,” explain that the noise disrupts your sleep and affects your work, and ask the agency to take action and speak to the neighbours. The purpose of the letter is clear and the details are relevant. However, some points are less fully developed: the timing could be more precise (for example, which nights and how late the gaming continues), and the effects on your work are mentioned but not explained. Your request would also be clearer if you specified a practical action, such as contacting the neighbour and reminding them of the building’s quiet-hours policy. These additions would make the response more complete and persuasive.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The letter follows a generally sensible order: it introduces the situation, describes the noise and its effects, and then makes a request. This makes the overall message understandable. However, the opening paragraph includes unrelated details about shopping and transport, which interrupts the focus and does not help explain the complaint. Some connections between ideas are also awkward or unclear, particularly “Apart from that” and the sentence about waking early. Paragraphing would be more effective if you separated the background, impact, and requested action into clear sections. Use linking phrases to show cause and result, such as explaining directly that the late-night noise prevents you from sleeping and therefore affects your work.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some vocabulary relevant to the complaint, including “unbearable,” “loud noise,” “impact on work,” and “take action.” These choices help communicate the main problem. However, the range is limited and several spelling or word-choice errors make parts of the letter less natural, such as “distrubness,” “conveint,” and “response the situation.” Some phrases are also imprecise: “your rented place” does not clearly identify the flat you rent through the agency, while “played the video game with loud noise” is an awkward collocation. Aim to use accurate, conventional phrases for a formal complaint, and check spelling carefully. More precise vocabulary would make your request sound clearer and more professional.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, and the reader can generally follow the main message. However, some sentence structures and verb forms are inaccurate, especially where several ideas are joined without clear punctuation. For example, “Recently, i moved to your rented place that place is very convient…” contains two clauses that need to be separated or linked correctly. In “during the night guys played,” the article and sentence opening need attention, and “i have to wake early in morning due to noise cannot awoke at time” has problems with clause structure and verb form. Capitalise “I” and begin sentences with capital letters. Practising accurate complex sentences and checking articles, tense, and punctuation would improve control.
