Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0
You state a clear overall view: you consider relying on alternative treatments a negative development because it “can lead [to a] life-threatening moment.” You also begin to acknowledge a possible benefit, namely saving money. However, the response does not develop the argument or explain how alternative treatments may create serious risks, and it ends before addressing the task fully. The length requirement is not met: the response contains 81 words, against the required minimum of 250. As a result, there is little supporting explanation or relevant example, and the positive point is left incomplete. Develop both the reason for your position and a specific example, then conclude by restating your judgement.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is a basic attempt to organise the response: an opening paragraph gives your position, and the next begins with “There are a number of advantages.” The contrast signalled by “While” also helps show that you recognise two sides. However, the second paragraph stops mid-sentence at “due to,” so the line of reasoning cannot progress, and there is no conclusion. The relationship between the claimed benefits and your negative judgement is not explained. Complete each paragraph around one clear point, use linking expressions to show how evidence supports that point, and add a concluding paragraph. This would create a more coherent progression rather than leaving the reader with an unfinished argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You attempt some topic-related vocabulary, including “herbal treatment,” “traditional medicines,” and “life-threatening,” and use phrases such as “prime benefit” to introduce an argument. However, spelling and word-choice errors are frequent enough to make parts of the response difficult to interpret, as in “homeopethic durgs” and “traditional medicnes.” Some expressions are also imprecise: “healthier life” does not clearly convey the intended benefit, and “life threatening moment” is less natural than describing a serious risk to health. Check spelling carefully and choose precise collocations. Building a wider set of terms for medical care, treatment effectiveness, and health risks would help you express the argument more clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You use both simple statements and a more complex opening structure with “While,” and the sentence beginning “This is because” shows an attempt to explain a reason. However, grammatical control is uneven. For example, “individuals more rely” has incorrect word order, while “One of the prime benefit is” has a singular–plural agreement error. The opening sentence also runs together after “doctors,” and the final sentence is incomplete, ending with “due to.” These problems make the argument harder to follow. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, sentence boundaries, and complete clauses. Once these are secure, extend your ideas with controlled complex sentences rather than leaving explanations unfinished.
