Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 163 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you clearly state your position that this is a negative development, the arguments provided are underdeveloped. For instance, you mention that 'serious diseases need treatment from qualified doctors' but do not provide sufficient explanation or examples to support this claim. To reach a higher band, you must expand your points with more detailed reasoning and illustrative examples. The conclusion is also quite brief. Because the response is substantially under-length, the development of the task is limited, which prevents a higher score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and limited. For example, you use 'Moreover' and 'In conclusion' to signal transitions, but the connections between sentences within paragraphs are often abrupt. There is a lack of variety in linking words, and some sentences feel disjointed. To improve, focus on using a wider range of cohesive devices (such as 'consequently', 'furthermore', or 'in contrast') to create a smoother flow between your ideas and to better link your supporting points to your main arguments.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'good or positive point' and 'health problems'. There are also some errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'alternative theraples' (spelling) and 'different type of treatments' (should be 'types'). To improve, try to incorporate more academic and topic-specific vocabulary, such as 'conventional medicine', 'holistic approaches', or 'clinical evidence'. Expanding your range of synonyms will help you express your ideas with more sophistication and clarity.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex sentences, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. For example, 'whereas they does not want to their regular doctor' is grammatically incorrect and confusing. Other issues include subject-verb agreement ('Alternative medicine have') and missing prepositions. The sentence structure is often repetitive, and punctuation is inconsistent. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and sentence construction. Practice using a variety of complex structures, such as relative clauses or conditional sentences, while ensuring they are grammatically accurate.
