Student answer (Band 6.0)
In recent years, there has been a trend among people experiencing health problems for choosing other alternative medicines for treatment rather than consulting a doctor. This is not a positive development, as there are several consequences which could lead to dangerous outcomes in longer run.
The primary reason behind this trend is the growing usage and dependence on social media platforms and other sources available on internet which lacks authenticity and carries the risk of misinformation. There are several individuals, who creates content and post on social media platforms, discussing about the cures and methods to treat diseases and illness. Furthermore, the information available on internet providing information regarding the treatment and solutions for diseases. Additionally, the use to artificial intelligence is rising in recent years, as people use these systems to get a cure.
These factors have lead to increase in number of deaths of an individual due to consumption of incorrect type and amount of medicine. In addition, people often get incorrect information from artificial intelligence models, as they lack the true and authentic information. Furthermore, the incorrect diagnose is also a major concern which comes with the usage of the social media for treating the illness, due to variation in the types of symptoms which vary from person to person.
Therefore, it can be concluded that, choosing alternative medicine and methods as treatment can lead to several significant consequences, due to lack of experience, risk of misinformation, incorrect diagnosis, usage of wrong type of medication, etc. So, consulting a qualified doctor is the only wise decision for getting treated, which ensures that there is no room for getting misinformation.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have clearly stated your position that this trend is a negative development and maintained this stance throughout the essay. You identified key reasons, such as the influence of social media and the risks of misinformation. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat repetitive. For instance, the second and third paragraphs both focus heavily on misinformation and incorrect diagnosis without introducing broader perspectives or deeper analysis. To reach a higher band, ensure each paragraph introduces a distinct, well-supported point rather than restating similar concepts. The conclusion effectively summarizes your argument, but the essay would benefit from more specific examples to illustrate the dangers mentioned.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore', 'Additionally', and 'Therefore' to link your ideas. However, some of these transitions feel mechanical or repetitive, particularly the frequent use of 'Furthermore' and 'In addition' at the start of sentences. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the internal structure of the paragraphs could be improved by varying the way you connect sentences. Referencing is generally clear, though some sentences are slightly disjointed due to the repetitive nature of the vocabulary used to link them.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'authenticity', 'misinformation', and 'qualified doctor'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'in longer run' (should be 'in the long run') and 'incorrect diagnose' (should be 'incorrect diagnosis'). You also rely on a somewhat limited set of academic phrases. To improve, try to incorporate more precise synonyms and collocations related to medical contexts and digital information to demonstrate a more flexible and sophisticated command of the language.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues like 'individuals, who creates content' (should be 'create') and 'factors have lead to' (should be 'led'). There are also minor errors with articles, such as 'on internet' (should be 'on the internet') and 'the use to artificial intelligence' (should be 'the use of'). While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they indicate a need for more careful proofreading and a stronger grasp of basic grammatical rules.
