Student answer (Band 5.0)

Health problem is serious issues and individual not take this seriously by which they suffer from many problem in future. In these days and ages, number of citizens who suffer from health issues are increasing and they trying the alternative remedies instead of taking the consultation of their usual doctor. I think this is completely a negative development and reasons of this will be discussed in upcoming paragraphs.

There are various reason why number of people who health issues increase out of them most predominant reason is that people have a greed of save some money by which they refused to visit the doctor and explain their health related problem.

Therefore, those people will increase the chance of getting serious problem in future and that time they have to pay too much money on treatment of problem . A prime example is that if a person who suffer from non serious problem and they not look at this . so, this health issues turned in serious problem and that time they have to pay too much on medicines .

Another is that people recommend the other treatment rather than taking medicine. A best example is that if a person who have a blind faith on another person and they think that doctor not have more information about health problem and they just charge too much them. They just have misconception about this and in all cases that person will faced too much health related issuse in future.

In conclusion, reason is that person have a greed of save money by which they suffer too much problem in future and some have blind faith on other rather than doctor

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position that relying on alternative medicines instead of seeing a doctor is a negative development. The student attempts to provide reasons, such as financial saving motivations and a misplaced mistrust in medical professionals, supporting these with examples like a non-serious issue turning severe if ignored. However, the ideas are rather limited and repetitive, with under-developed argumentation. The reasoning is often simplistic and lacks deeper exploration of the topic. While all parts of the task are addressed, the depth of exploration corresponds to the Band 5 descriptors, as the ideas remain somewhat undeveloped and rely on vague generalisations.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay demonstrates some organisation with a visible introduction, body paragraphs, and a brief conclusion, but there is a lack of clear overall progression. Paragraphing is attempted, but transitions between ideas feel abrupt and mechanical. For instance, sentences like "Another is that people recommend the other treatment rather than taking medicine" lack smooth logical connection to the preceding text. Cohesive devices are occasionally used incorrectly or are repetitive, such as the frequent reliance on phrases like "by which" and "that time". Referencing is also sometimes unclear, making it difficult to follow the logical flow at times. This places the response firmly within the Band 5 descriptors for cohesion.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The student uses a limited, repetitive vocabulary range that is just about adequate for the task. There are noticeable lexical errors and awkward word choices throughout the text, such as "greed of save some money", "non serious problem", and "blind faith on another person". Spelling and word-form errors, such as "issuse", also occur. Less common vocabulary is attempted with frequent inaccuracy, causing some difficulty for the reader and restricting the score to Band 5 based on the official descriptors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The writing relies heavily on simple sentence forms and repetitive clause structures, with attempts at complex sentences frequently resulting in grammatical errors. Examples of structural faults include "if a person who suffer from non serious problem and they not look at this . so, this health issues turned in serious problem". There are frequent errors in verb tense consistency, subject-verb agreement, and articles throughout the response. These errors cause strain for the reader and reflect the Band 5 descriptor where attempts at complex sentences are often faulty and frequent errors impede clarity.
