Student answer (Band 6.0)
Medicine existed for the welfare of mankind for centuries. At present, people are getting more self aware and are getting very cautious in chosing the medicine that the doctor prescribes due to the technolgical advancements and are trying to find different ways .In my perpecitve , this is a positive trend that people are now finally awakened and and are investigating what goes in thier body and how it would effect their well being . In this essay i will discuss how this is an encouraging trend with different cases
Due to emergance of new technolgies , the information that usally was burried in the books or in doctor brains hasn now been widley available . The pharmaceutical mafia has maniplulated the doctor into prescribing thier medicines even when organic traditional medicine could have done the job with little to no side effects. People now are more aware and choose to go with the medicine that our ancestor used . For instance , the infections are treated by anitbiotics even if they are mild.Alternative is to eat and drink those foods that give your body the energy and nutrients to fight against it . This will boost up the immune system and they will be less prone to infectious diseases next time.
The foremost benefit of trying other treatments is that they will study about the health problems they are experiencing, understand the underlying cause and will try to mitigate that cause to reduce the chance of thier occurance . In this way , they will be able to save thousands of dollars as healthcare is getting expensive. For exmaple ,One of the leading cause of death in the world is doctor's error. This will be reduced drastically when people wil explore different and better treatments rather then blindly follow doctors instructions.
In a nutshell, the people are understanding that they have to be incharge of thier health.Following traditional medincine and exploring different ways to cure themselves will be proven a healthy developlement and it will revolutionize the health setor in the future .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The student addresses all parts of the task by presenting a clear position that the trend towards alternative medicine is positive. Ideas are extended and supported throughout the essay, such as contrasting pharmaceutical interventions with traditional remedies and discussing healthcare costs and medical errors. For instance, the writer argues that alternative treatments allow individuals to understand underlying causes and avoid doctor errors. However, there is a tendency to over-generalise, such as referring to the 'pharmaceutical mafia,' and some arguments regarding doctors' errors lack specific nuance. Nevertheless, the main position is sustained and supported adequately, aligning well with the Band 7 descriptor.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay displays a clear logical organisation and progression throughout. Each paragraph has a discernible central topic, moving from the introduction of the trend to specific arguments regarding technology and financial savings, and concluding with a summary. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'For instance,' 'The foremost benefit,' and 'In a nutshell,' though some transitions are occasionally mechanical or slightly repetitive in structure. Paragraphing is used sufficiently and appropriately to group related ideas together. Referencing is generally clear, despite minor mechanical flaws in punctuation and spacing around cohesive markers, supporting a solid Band 6.5 or 7.0 placement, best represented by a 6.5.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common items such as 'technological advancements,' 'well-being,' 'underlying cause,' and 'mitigate.' However, there are numerous spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text, including 'chosing,' 'perpecitve,' 'emergance,' 'usally,' 'burried,' 'maniplulated,' 'thier,' 'exmaple,' and 'developlement.' These lexical errors and typos are noticeable, but they rarely impede overall communication because the intended meaning remains clear to the reader. This performance sits firmly at Band 6, where an adequate range is shown despite frequent spelling mistakes.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
The student uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating attempts at relative clauses and conditional structures. However, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation, particularly missing articles ('doctor brains', 'health sector'), subject-verb agreement issues ('people... is'), and awkward phrasing ('the medicine that our ancestor used'). Punctuation errors are also notable, such as spaces before commas and periods. While these errors do not severely impede communication, they occur regularly enough to prevent the essay from reaching Band 7. The control of grammar aligns most closely with Band 6.
