Student answer (Band 5.0)

In the recent decade, people with health problems are trying alternative medicines and treatments instead of visiting their usual doctor. As technology have increased a lot, there are numerous options available to overcome people's health problem which have good impact on individual's health.

Firstly, there are vast number of reasons why people prefer alternate options for their treatments. The first reason to look on is technological machines available to solve any kind of health problem in quick and easy way. In addition, people prefer to do treatments instead of taking medicine from their usual doctors. For instance, if a person is suffering from blood pressure issue then he/she will go with the procedure of quick treatment instead of taking medicines for life long .

Moving forward, one question arives at this point that is there any other reasons? Yes, as i have previously mentioned that there are many reasons for this. Another reason to be considered is that people nowadays believe in natural medicines made from natural raw materials. Moreover, they think that this type of medicines will not have any kind of side effect and will cure your health problem. For example, if a person is suffering from fever then instead of taking medicines from doctor, they will make a natural medicine at home from ingridients like turmeric, honey and many more.

Personally i believe that every situation have benefits as well as drawbacks. In this case, if people will not go to doctors and prefer to do treatments of take alternate medicine then, it might be beneficial of them but can be disadvantanous to doctors.

To sum up the content mentioned above, people will always prefer what is best for them. In this mordern world, technology is replacing the work of human and sometime people are not prefering to medicines because of the side effect.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

The response discusses reasons people choose alternatives, including technology and natural remedies, and gives examples such as turmeric and honey. However, the central question asks whether this is a positive or negative development, and your position is not clearly established or sustained. The statement that it “might be beneficial” for patients but “disadvantanous to doctors” shifts attention to doctors’ interests rather than explaining effects on patients or society. The examples also do not clearly show that alternative treatments are safe or effective, and the blood-pressure example is confusing because it does not explain what the treatment involves. State a clear overall judgement and develop relevant benefits or risks with specific reasoning.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

Your response has separate paragraphs and uses signposts such as “Firstly,” “Moving forward,” and “To sum up,” so the reader can identify a basic structure. However, the progression is not consistently logical: the second body paragraph asks “is there any other reasons?” and answers it itself, while the conclusion introduces technology replacing human work without developing that point earlier. Some links are repetitive or mechanical, and references such as “this type of medicines” are not fully clear. Organise the body around two distinct reasons that directly support your position, then use the conclusion to restate that position rather than introduce a new idea.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “alternative medicines,” “side effect,” “natural raw materials,” and “blood pressure,” which helps communicate the general subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, such as “quick and easy way,” “do treatments,” and “natural medicine.” Spelling errors including “arives,” “ingridients,” “disadvantanous,” and “mordern” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more precise expressions for treatment choices and their consequences, and check spelling carefully. Using terms such as “complementary therapies,” “medical advice,” and “adverse effects” would help you express the topic more clearly and appropriately.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including conditional forms such as “if a person is suffering from fever then…” and a concluding sentence beginning “To sum up.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors in agreement, articles, verb forms, and punctuation occur throughout. Examples include “As technology have increased,” “every situation have benefits,” and “people are not prefering to medicines.” The sentence about blood pressure also has an unclear structure, while spaces before full stops and inconsistent capitalisation affect control. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and verb patterns, and build longer sentences from a clear main clause with correctly connected supporting information.
