Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5
You state a position—“I think this is positive and negative both development”—but the task asks you to decide whether the development is positive or negative, so your view remains unclear. The response mainly claims that medicines can harm people, yet it does not explain the possible benefits of alternative treatments or clearly distinguish these from prescribed medicines. The example about caring for one’s health is difficult to follow and does not support the argument with a specific situation. The response contains 222 words, below the 250-word minimum; 8 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. To improve, choose one overall judgement and develop it with relevant reasons and a clear example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
There is an attempt to organise the response into an introduction, body paragraphs and a conclusion, and phrases such as “For example” and “In conclusion” signal stages of the argument. However, the ideas do not progress clearly: the first body paragraph moves from sleep and health problems to alternative treatments without explaining the connection, while the next repeats that health issues are increasing and medicines cause harm. Several links between sentences are unclear, and “Therefore” does not always show a logical result. The conclusion repeats the claim that medicines damage the body rather than resolving the positive-or-negative question. Group related points together, use clear topic sentences, and make each linking phrase express the actual relationship between ideas.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.0
You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “alternative medicines,” “treatments,” “health issues,” and “negative effects,” so the general subject can be recognised. However, the range is basic and repetitive, with “people,” “medicines,” and “health problems” appearing frequently. Numerous spelling errors, including “sttement,” “madicines,” and “deases,” make the writing harder to read. Some combinations are also unclear or unnatural, such as “more work of their energy” and “different diseases born in peoples body.” Build a small set of accurate topic phrases and check spelling carefully. More precise wording for treatment types and their effects would help you explain your ideas without repeating the same general terms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0
The response mainly uses short, simple statements, with a few attempts to connect clauses using “because,” “therefore,” and “while.” However, sentence structures are very limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make several meanings difficult to follow. For example, “health problems are very increase in peoples” has an incorrect verb construction, and “People do not complete a sleeping therefore growing numbers of health problems with people” lacks a clear grammatical structure. Agreement, articles, plurals and sentence boundaries also need attention, as in “a people” and “Different deases born in peoples body.” Practise building accurate subject–verb–object sentences first, then add one subordinate clause at a time and check punctuation between clauses.
