Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5
The response recognises that alternative medicine may have both positive and negative effects, but it does not clearly answer whether this is a positive or negative development. The conclusion refers to visiting a doctor as having a “postive effect,” yet the overall position remains difficult to identify. Most of the discussion is about health problems generally, such as “stomic problem” and “kidney issue,” rather than explaining why people choose alternative treatments or what consequences that choice has. The points about proper knowledge and guidance are relevant, but they are not developed with clear reasoning or a specific example. To strengthen the response, state your view directly and support it with focused explanations of benefits or risks, such as delayed diagnosis or the value of evidence-based care.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
There is a basic attempt to organise the response with an opening, a paragraph beginning “Moreover,” and a conclusion introduced by “In conclusion.” Connectors such as “To begin with” and “In addition” also show an effort to guide the reader. However, the ideas do not progress in a clear sequence: the first paragraph moves from general health concerns to alternative medicine, while the next introduces clinics, government, schools, and families without explaining how these points connect. Several references, including “this situation” and “the situation,” are unclear. The conclusion repeats the general importance of health rather than drawing together a developed argument. Group related ideas into paragraphs and use each paragraph to explain one main point in a logical order.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
The response uses some topic-related vocabulary, including “alternative medicines,” “treatment,” “clinic,” “guidance,” and “awareness,” so the reader can recognise the general subject. However, the range is often basic or imprecise, and several word choices or collocations make meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “attrect the senior doctor,” “full the treatment,” and “strong the health work togather.” There are also spelling errors such as “attrect,” “dirtcet,” and “responsiable.” Aim for accurate, natural phrases rather than assembling loosely related words: for example, explain that a treatment “may affect people’s health” or that patients should “consult a qualified doctor.” Learning vocabulary in complete collocations will improve clarity and precision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts both simple statements and longer sentences, including “The important point is that alternative medicines can have both positive and negative effects.” This shows some ability to form a clause with a clear main idea. However, control is inconsistent, and errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction frequently make the meaning hard to recover. For example, “health problems is important” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “it may affects” uses an incorrect verb form. The sentence beginning “If people and society which visiting the doctor…” is not grammatically complete or clear. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then add subordinate clauses; check agreement, articles, and verb forms, and use punctuation to separate complete ideas.
