Student answer (Band 4.0)

Medicines is very dangerous for our health basically, but in this world many peoples can face the health issues in daily life. They face many difficulties about our health. It has positive and negative both effects. Positive effect of madicines is you use and you can better feels. Negative development of these medicines is that they can cause physical and medical development. In my opinion and experiance in hospitals there are very uncomfortableness, and very bad environment in hospitals. For example, one person use medicines and other person donot use medicines. This can show that the person donot use medicines its a save, but the person who use medicines they can face many problems like mental health issues and physical health issues. A growing number of people with health problems are trying alternative medicines and treatment instead of visiting the hospitals and consult with doctors. This problems has many solutions in my experiance, we use healthy fruits, juices and healthy environment. Our healthy environment is best part of our life. I understand when the healthy environment provides mentally and physically health about our body. The medicines is very addicted for person basically. Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5

The response makes a general attempt to discuss whether avoiding doctors in favour of alternative treatment is positive or negative, and it includes a personal viewpoint about hospitals and health. However, the position is not clearly maintained: the opening says there are “positive and negative both effects,” while the conclusion mainly recommends healthy food and environment without directly judging the development. Much of the discussion shifts to medicines generally, rather than comparing alternative treatments with consulting a doctor. The example about one person using medicines and another not using them is unclear and does not support a reasoned claim. To strengthen the response, state a definite view and develop relevant reasons, such as the risks of delaying diagnosis or the possible benefits and limits of complementary care. The 13 words copied from the task prompt were not counted.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.0

There is a basic attempt to move from an opening statement to examples and then a concluding recommendation, and linking expressions such as “For example,” “so,” and “In my opinion” show awareness of how ideas can be connected. However, the response is presented as one continuous paragraph, and its progression is difficult to follow because it moves between medicines, hospital conditions, healthy food, and the environment without clear relationships. Repeated statements such as “these things are very important in our life” do not advance the argument. Some references are also unclear, including “This problems” and “these things.” Use separate paragraphs for your position, supporting reasons, and conclusion, and make each sentence connect explicitly to the central question.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The response uses a basic range of topic-related vocabulary, including “health issues,” “mental health,” “physical health,” “hospitals,” and “treatment,” so the general subject is usually recognisable. There are also attempts to express evaluation, for example “positive and negative” and “very important.” However, vocabulary is repetitive, and several choices or forms make meaning unclear: “physical and medical development” does not explain a specific harm, while “medicines is very addicted” appears to mean that medicines can be addictive. Spelling and word-form errors such as “madicines,” “experiance,” and “understant” further weaken control. Build a more precise set of expressions for alternative therapies, medical advice, side effects, and delayed treatment, and check spelling and collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The writing includes mostly simple sentence patterns and some attempts to join ideas with “but,” “and,” and “when.” This allows the reader to identify the broad topic, but grammatical control is inconsistent. Agreement errors occur in “Medicines is” and “This problems has”; verb forms and sentence construction are also faulty in “you can better feels” and “I understand when the healthy environment provides mentally and physically health about our body.” Articles, plurals, and punctuation need attention, as in “the person donot use medicines its a save” and the inconsistent capitalisation after full stops. Practise accurate simple sentences first, especially subject–verb agreement and complete clauses, then add controlled complex sentences using because, although, and if.
