Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
Your position is ultimately clear: you consider avoiding a usual doctor in favour of alternative medicines to be harmful, and you recommend seeking professional medical advice. This addresses the central question. However, the response only partly develops the task because much of the second paragraph discusses causes of illness—diet, population growth and traffic pollution—rather than explaining the effects of choosing alternative treatment. The claim that these medicines harm people is repeated, but no specific example or explanation shows how this happens. The opening also says the essay will discuss a “positive of negative effect,” which leaves your position unclear at first. State your view directly in the introduction, then support it with a relevant example, such as delayed diagnosis or an unsafe interaction with prescribed medicine.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, body paragraphs and a conclusion. The final paragraph returns to your recommendation, and connectors such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “In the conclusion” help signal stages in the response. However, progression is uneven: the discussion of food and traffic pollution moves away from the question, and the next paragraph shifts abruptly to alternative medicines without a clear link. Some connections are also unclear, as in “In this result,” and the repeated recommendation to visit a doctor does not add a new point. Organise the body around two distinct reasons why relying on alternative treatment is negative, and use clear links to show how each reason supports your position.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “alternative medicines,” “proper doctor,” “pollution,” and “diseases,” so the general subject is understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making meaning difficult to follow. For example, “health problems … are rose steadily” and “high traffic conjunction” do not express the intended ideas clearly; “mental” is also repeatedly used where “mental health” or “psychological well-being” is needed. Spelling errors such as “heath” and “mantel” further reduce precision. Build a more accurate set of phrases for medical care and consequences, such as “consult a qualified doctor,” “delay diagnosis,” and “adverse effects,” and check spelling and word forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple sentences and longer sentences with reasons, including the sentence beginning “Due to the overloading…” and the advice that people “should get checked.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in basic sentence patterns, verb forms, agreement and articles. Examples include “they does not visiting,” “a alternative medicines,” and “the rate of population increased gradually.” Some sentences are difficult to interpret because several clauses are joined without clear grammatical control, as in the discussion of low-quality oil, sugar and disease. Practise forming accurate subject–verb patterns and use a full stop when an idea is complete. Then add controlled complex sentences with “because,” “although” or “as a result” rather than joining many ideas together.
