Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address the topic and give reasons on both sides, including concerns about time and cost as well as the risks of taking medicine without medical advice. Your clearest relevant point is that self-medication may cause harm because medicines can have side effects. However, the response does not consistently answer whether the growing use of alternative treatments instead of visiting a usual doctor is positive or negative. Much of the discussion shifts to taking medicines regularly, which is not necessarily the same as using alternative treatments, and the final position is difficult to identify. To strengthen the response, state your view clearly in the introduction and conclusion, then develop a few directly relevant reasons with specific explanations or examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has an introduction, two body paragraphs signposted with “on the one hand” and “on the other hand,” and a conclusion, so there is a basic attempt to organise the discussion. However, the overall progression is difficult to follow because ideas within paragraphs are loosely connected or repeated. For example, the first body paragraph moves from time and cost to regular medicine use, punctuality, travel, and laziness without explaining how each point supports the argument about alternative treatments. Linking phrases such as “Moreover” and “in addition” are used, but they do not always show a clear relationship between ideas. Group related points, use clearer references, and make each paragraph develop one central argument.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some vocabulary relevant to health and treatment, including “side effect,” “health problem,” “recover,” and “doctor instruction.” However, the range is limited and several expressions are repeated, particularly references to medicine, doctors, and recovery. Frequent spelling errors such as “regurlary,” “beleive,” and “desease,” along with inaccurate or unnatural phrases such as “live a life of joy” and “damage your body inner system,” make parts of the message difficult to understand. Some word choices also do not express the intended meaning clearly, as in “they are hot tempered will be dangerious.” Build a more precise set of topic vocabulary and check spelling and collocations so your ideas can be communicated reliably.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, including clauses introduced by “because” and “as,” but control is inconsistent. Errors in sentence structure and agreement appear in examples such as “most of the most thinks” and “they are hot tempered will be dangerious,” while article use is often inaccurate in phrases such as “an good way” and “an serious health problem.” Verb forms and sentence boundaries also need attention; for instance, “conclusion, on going world people now depend” does not form a clear, complete opening sentence for the conclusion. These frequent errors sometimes make the intended meaning hard to follow. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with subordinate clauses and check articles, agreement, and punctuation.
