Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
Your position is identifiable: you call the trend “a negative development” and give a personal example of delaying medical care. However, the response addresses the question only minimally. The example explains why you personally should have seen a doctor, but you do not develop broader reasons why people choosing alternative treatments may be harmful, nor discuss when such treatments might be useful. The final sentence also calls the trend “a crutial develoipment,” which conflicts with your stated negative view and leaves your conclusion unclear. The response contains 140 words, below the required 250; 10 words copied from the task prompt were excluded from that count. To strengthen the response, state your position consistently and explain and support at least two relevant reasons.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
There is some organisation: you state your view first, place the personal incident in a separate paragraph, and attempt a concluding sentence. The incident also follows a basic sequence from fever to refusing the call and then going to hospital. However, progression between the general claim and the example is limited, and the conclusion does not clearly connect back to your position. Linking phrases such as “so” and “Due to” are attempted, but the relationships between ideas are not always expressed clearly. Develop a clearer paragraph plan—for example, position, reason one, reason two or example, and conclusion—and use references such as “this experience” to show how each paragraph supports your argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “alternative medicines and treatments,” “doctor,” “fever,” and “hospital,” so the main topic can be recognised. However, the range is basic and several spelling and word-choice errors make parts difficult to understand, such as “percetive,” “interfare,” “carless,” and “crutial develoipment.” Some expressions are also unnatural or imprecise, including “medical thing” and “it doesnt over come it.” Aim to learn accurate topic vocabulary and common collocations, such as “seek medical advice,” “side effects,” and “delay treatment.” Check spelling carefully and choose words that express your intended meaning precisely.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You communicate a few basic ideas through simple sentences, and the past-tense incident gives you an opportunity to describe events in sequence. However, the range of sentence structures is very limited, and frequent errors sometimes obscure meaning. For example, “my mom trying call the doctor” lacks a correctly formed verb phrase, while “i have to admit 5 days for hospital” has problems with tense, article use, and sentence structure. The opening also contains sentence-boundary and capitalisation problems: “This is wrong .it ia a negative development.” Practise forming complete sentences with accurate subjects and verbs, then combine related ideas using simple clauses such as “Because I delayed seeking advice, my condition worsened.”
