Student answer (Band 6.0)
At present, instead of consulting their doctor people are trying substitute treatments and medicines as health problems are increasing. In my view, Many medical treatments alternatives are available for treating the health problems but allopathy is widely used among all.
There is a reason that there are some severe health problems which are not cureable. However, some medical treatments such as ayurvedic and homopathy can cure those diseases. Homopathy has also shown affect on animals, human beings and plants. As a result, people are leaned to test medical treatments available in the market instead of choosing allopathy. To quote an example, there is no cure for migraine in allopathy so people have started choosing ayurvedic medicines to cure it as it has shown tremendous results. Furthermore, It costs very less as compared to allopathy.
Despite these, there are some medical practices which are proven yet by the researchers and medical system. People are still following those treatments which could also worsen their medical conditions. To give an example, people buy medicines from local medical shops where they provide the subsititute of the medicines by saying it is as same salt. This can also affect their health and that salt can cause issue as it is not prescribed by their doctor.
In my opinion, people should consult their doctor first before buying any substitute for a medicine. Also, they should first research about the treatments which they are opting and chose it wisely.
In conclusion, the government should spread some awareness among people about the medical treatments in the market and which treatments are genuine. They can do campaign, workshops and seminars in various companies, hospital and encourage people to take better care of their health.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address the question and give a recognisable position: you acknowledge possible benefits of alternative treatments, but your conclusion stresses caution and medical advice. The examples about migraine and medicines substituted at local shops are relevant, and the risks paragraph helps balance the discussion. However, the position on whether this is a positive or negative development is not fully consistent: the opening says alternatives can treat health problems, while the conclusion mainly recommends checking with a doctor. Some claims, such as there being “no cure for migraine in allopathy” and homeopathy affecting plants and animals, need qualification or support. Develop the comparison more clearly by explaining when alternatives may help and why replacing a doctor’s advice can be harmful.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure, moving from an introduction to potential benefits, risks, recommendations and a conclusion. Paragraphs generally have a distinct purpose, and linking phrases such as “However,” “Furthermore” and “In conclusion” help the reader follow the argument. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some flexibility in connecting ideas. At times, though, the progression is less smooth: the first body paragraph shifts from incurable conditions to homeopathy and then migraine without fully explaining the links. “Despite these” also refers back unclearly, and the final paragraph introduces government campaigns without connecting them closely to the earlier recommendation to consult a doctor. Use clearer referencing and make each paragraph’s central point explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some topic-specific vocabulary, including “alternative medicines,” “medical conditions,” “prescribed” and “treatments,” and you attempt less common terms such as “tremendous results.” The meaning is generally understandable, but inaccurate word choice, spelling and collocation limit precision. For example, “people are leaned to test medical treatments” is not a natural way to describe people choosing treatments, while “same salt” does not clearly express the intended idea of an equivalent medicine or active ingredient. There are also spelling errors such as “homopathy,” “cureable” and “subsititute.” Build a more accurate range around healthcare, and check spelling and natural word combinations so your ideas sound precise and credible.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “treatments which could also worsen their medical conditions” and a conditional structure in “before buying any substitute.” Most sentences remain understandable, but some grammatical errors affect clarity and control. For instance, “there are some severe health problems which are not cureable” needs a correctly formed adjective and a more accurate construction, while “people are leaned to test” has an incorrect verb form. There are also issues with articles, agreement and punctuation, such as “It costs very less” and the capitalisation of “Many” and “It” mid-sentence. Review verb forms, sentence boundaries and article use, while continuing to practise complex sentences.
