Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0
The response recognises the topic and refers to people choosing alternative medicine instead of relying on their usual doctor, so it is relevant to the question. However, it does not clearly answer whether this is a positive or negative development: “It’s not a big issue” is ambiguous, and the final comment about being unable to “tolerate return result” does not explain a clear position. The ideas about village and town residents are repeated rather than supported with reasons or a relevant example. The response also does not meet the required minimum length, leaving the argument substantially incomplete. State your view directly, then develop it with specific consequences and an example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5
There is a basic sequence of ideas: health problems are introduced, people’s use of alternative medicine is mentioned, and a possible consequence is suggested. This gives the reader some sense of the topic. However, the response is presented as one paragraph, and progression is difficult to follow because several short statements repeat similar points. Connectors such as “after that” recur without making the relationship between events clear, while “but” does not consistently introduce a clear contrast. Organise the response into an introduction, developed supporting paragraphs, and a conclusion. Use linking expressions to show cause, contrast, and consequence, and make references such as “they” clearly identify who is meant.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.0
The response uses a small set of relevant topic words, including “health problem,” “usual doctor,” “treatment,” and “alternative medicine,” so the general subject can be understood. However, vocabulary is basic and repetitive, and several inaccurate or unclear choices make the message harder to interpret. For example, “Diplomatic health Problems” does not convey a clear meaning, and “return result” is not a natural way to describe an outcome. Spelling and word forms such as “helth” and “faces” also reduce accuracy. Build a more precise range for discussing medical care and its effects, and check spelling and collocations. For instance, use “serious health conditions” and “adverse effects” where appropriate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The writing mainly uses simple sentence patterns, and some basic clauses communicate a recognisable idea, such as “they are trying alternative medicine.” There is also an attempt to connect ideas with “because” or contrastive wording, but the range of structures remains narrow and control is inconsistent. Errors include subject–verb agreement in “many people are faces” and “they faces,” as well as sentence-boundary and capitalisation problems, such as beginning “many people” after a full stop with a lowercase letter. The long opening sequence is also difficult to parse because clauses are joined with full stops and “and” without clear structure. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then add controlled complex sentences using clear cause-and-effect patterns.
