Student answer (Band 5.0)
It is often agrued that individuals change their habits and opinion as they become old, on the other hand, some people believe that its diffcuilt to change old person habits and views. While, there is a valid arguement on both the sides. I truely agree that old people do not change themselves and in this essay we will discuss about the same topic.
One of the main reason that senior citizen change their habits and opinion is due to their age, after coming on a certain age, these individuals becomes quiet sensitive and takes every small thing to their heart. They become weak emotionaly also due to which its become diffcuilt for them to adjust on any thing. They look for extra attention and care. For instance. my grandmother used to eat anything and enjoyed going out for dinners, but now she does not enjoying going out for anything.Instead, she likes staying at home.
Furthermore, few people have this view that old people does not wants to change their habits and opinions. For example, my mother in law she still belongs to old school generation and likes to live her life according to old rules and traditions. They dont want to adjust their lifes or their routine to modern lifestyle. They are still connected to their old roots.
In my opinion, I agree with this statement that old people does not change their habits and views. Although, it makes sense a person living whole his life with same habits and opinions cannot change overtime.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You present a position—“I truely agree that old people do not change themselves”—and include personal examples involving your grandmother and mother-in-law. These examples are relevant, but the response only partially addresses the question because the opening introduces both sides and the body discusses reasons older people may change or resist change without clearly explaining whether you agree that people commonly change as they age. The grandmother example describes a change in preference, while the mother-in-law example supports the opposite view, but neither is developed into a clear explanation of how common such changes are. State your position consistently and explain how each example supports it; also develop the reasons rather than relying on broad claims about older people.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable paragraph structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. You also use basic linking expressions such as “Furthermore” and “For instance,” which help signal examples and a new point. However, the overall progression is unclear because the first body paragraph describes older people changing, while the next and the conclusion argue that they do not. The opening’s “on the other hand” and “While” also create a confusing relationship between ideas, and the conclusion does not resolve the contrast. Some connections are repetitive or awkward, and the example beginning “For instance” is separated by a full stop from the sentence that follows. Organise the body around one consistent position and use clear links to show how each paragraph advances it.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the general subject, including “habits,” “opinions,” “attention and care,” “traditions,” and “modern lifestyle.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions such as “old school generation” and “old roots.” However, the range is limited and several spelling or word-choice errors reduce accuracy, including “agrued,” “diffcuilt,” “truely,” and “emotionaly.” Some phrases are unnatural or imprecise: “change themselves,” “coming on a certain age,” and “adjust on any thing” do not express the intended ideas naturally. Aim for accurate collocations and vary repeated words such as “change” and “old.” Proofreading spelling and choosing more precise expressions would make your meaning clearer.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a contrast with “Although” and a reason introduced by “due to which.” However, the range is limited, and complex structures are often inaccurate. Agreement and verb forms are frequent problems: “these individuals becomes,” “takes every small thing,” and “old people does not wants” should use plural subjects with matching verbs. Other examples include “she does not enjoying” and the incomplete construction “Although, it makes sense a person living whole his life…”. Sentence boundaries and punctuation also need attention, as in “For instance. my grandmother” and “anything.Instead.” Practise building accurate sentences with subordinate clauses, and check subject–verb agreement, verb forms, articles and punctuation.
