Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the introduction: you agree that people change as they age, and you give relevant reasons involving social circumstances and physical fitness. The marriage example explains how priorities may shift towards family, while the sports example shows how physical changes can affect habits. These points address the question, but they are not equally developed: the second body paragraph focuses on habits and says less about how opinions change. The conclusion introduces changing beliefs and culture across generations, which is relevant but not fully connected to the earlier reasons. To strengthen the response, explain more directly how life experience or changing responsibilities can alter a person’s opinions, and extend each example with a clearer link to your position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs signposted by “Firstly” and “Secondly,” and a conclusion. The examples generally follow the reasons they are meant to support, so the reader can follow the main line of argument. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. For instance, “that will be changed” does not clearly identify which habit is changing, and the transition from physical fitness to “it is time to read book on chair” is abrupt. The conclusion also shifts to generations and culture without preparing this idea in the body. Use clearer references and link each example explicitly to the paragraph’s main point; this would make progression smoother and cohesion less dependent on basic sequencing words.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a range of vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “social circumstances,” “physical fitness,” “afford,” and “generations.” These choices help communicate the main ideas, and you attempt more specific expressions such as “geriatric changes.” However, several word choices, collocations, and spelling errors make parts of the response less natural or occasionally unclear: “re-arrange their thoughts,” “life supplements,” “dynamics process,” and “expecteted” are examples. Some repetition of “change” and “habit” also limits flexibility. Aim for accurate, natural combinations rather than more elaborate wording, and check spelling carefully. For example, “adjust their views,” “financial responsibilities,” and “a dynamic process” would express your intended meanings more idiomatically.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a conditional example beginning “if he in his youth used to spend time…” and a reason clause introduced by “as.” This shows some range, but errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries are frequent enough to make several sentences difficult to read. Examples include “I am totally agree,” “as the age advances he become married,” and “Physical fitnees one of the leading causes.” The long sentence about saving money and spending time indoors also needs clearer punctuation and structure. Practise building accurate subject–verb patterns and checking tense consistency; for instance, “I totally agree” and “as people get older, they may marry” would provide clearer foundations for more complex sentences.
