Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear position, but the development of ideas is inconsistent. While you provide examples like the use of technology and the resistance to change in some cultures, the arguments are often under-developed or lack clarity. For instance, the transition from discussing habits to the idea of 'not wanting to connect with people' as one ages is a broad generalization that lacks sufficient explanation. To improve, ensure that each paragraph focuses on a single, well-supported point that directly relates to how habits or opinions change over time, rather than listing loosely connected observations.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'To elobrate' and 'To wrap up' are used, but the internal flow between sentences is frequently disrupted by grammatical errors and awkward phrasing. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the final paragraph where the connection between the two sentences is difficult to follow. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one will significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary range is limited and there are frequent spelling errors throughout the text, such as 'enhence', 'nowdays', 'prepesptive', 'agrued', and 'telenology'. These errors, combined with word-choice issues (e.g., 'apported' instead of 'adopted'), occasionally make the text difficult to read. While you attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary related to technology and lifestyle, the lack of precision and the high frequency of spelling mistakes prevent the response from reaching a higher band. Focusing on accurate spelling and learning common collocations will help you convey your ideas more effectively.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and there are frequent grammatical errors that impede communication. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'trends are change'), incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'it is believe'), and missing articles or incorrect prepositions. Complex sentence attempts are often faulty, leading to confusion. For example, 'In today's fast growing world with enhence of technology nowdays' is a sentence fragment. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring subjects and verbs agree, and practicing the correct use of articles and tenses before attempting more complex structures.
