Student answer (Band 6.0)

Maturity and experience comes automatically comes with time which change persons thinking and way of seeing things differently. I agree with this but in my experience I have also seen people to same as they were before. I will articulate both my opinions with best of my knowledge.

First and foremost, it is generally observed that there's always a clash between young and old persons ideologies. Old people tend to have more practical knowledge than younger generations because they have tackle those situations before in their life. As a result their habits and their thinking has changed as they move towards next stages of life. Lets take our example, our thinking and efficiency to do task has changed vividly from our past times. Secondly, working styles are also changed after a time when we start getting trouble with doing our daily chores. No wants a difficult life, so they leave their bad habits and start adapting new ones for betterment of their future.

Nevertheless, there are some stubborn people who doesn't wants to change their lifestyle. They are not willing to change their working as well as thinking style. Sometimes their jobs plays a vital role in this, for example military veterans who has served large proportion of their life in one fixed schedule, moreover they are trained in a way that if something is happening their will be a fixed procedure. Those systems and habits has made concrete footings in their life style which they are not going to change at all costs.

In conclusion, majority of individuals change their ways to live their life at its best. however some people are still dealing with life in the same ways they were doing before. In my opinion, happiness and enjoying life plays an important role in changing the habits, those who are happy with their traditional ways of living life are not going to change their ideology

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both sides of the argument: the tendency for people to change as they age and the existence of those who remain set in their ways. The position is clear throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. While the point about military veterans is a good specific example, the explanation regarding 'daily chores' is a bit vague and could have been expanded with more concrete detail. The essay covers all parts of the task, but the depth of analysis is limited, which prevents it from reaching the higher bands. To improve, ensure that each supporting point is fully explored with clear, logical reasoning.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central theme. Cohesive devices such as 'First and foremost', 'Secondly', 'Nevertheless', and 'In conclusion' are used to guide the reader through the argument. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where the flow between sentences is slightly disjointed. For example, the transition between the discussion of military veterans and the concluding paragraph could be smoother. Referencing is generally clear, but the overall progression of ideas could be more sophisticated to achieve a higher band.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to convey their ideas clearly. There are attempts to use less common vocabulary, such as 'ideologies', 'vividly', and 'concrete footings', which shows a good effort. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'tackle those situations' (should be 'tackled') and 'change their ways to live their life at its best'. While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more precise control over word choice to reach the next level.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is usually clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'Maturity and experience comes', 'jobs plays', 'people who doesn't wants'). Additionally, there are issues with verb tense consistency and article usage. While the writer attempts complex sentences, these are often where the errors occur. To improve, the writer should focus on proofreading to catch basic agreement errors and work on ensuring that complex structures are used with greater accuracy.
