Student answer (Band 6.5)
In the contemporary world, it is widely believed that as long as people become older, altering their habits and opinions is noticed to be common among themselves. I completely agree with the statement because they will have different preferences according to their age group, and when they go through every stage of life, they gain experience, which can assist them in landing at a good conclusion.
Analyzing the statement and explaining further, people have choices to perform activities depending upon what age group they lie under. This is because not everyone would be in a better position at all stages of their lives. Furthermore, persons who cross the mark of forty or fifty will not have that capability to perform duties which they have done before during their adulthood. For instance, if an individual was an athlete during his younger life, he will not be able to continue practicing that at this age. Additionally, his body will not facilitate him in performing this habit, and this changes his mind to adopt modern habits that well suits his body. Therefore, these people will naturally alter their habits, since they want to do things which are suitable for them.
Probing ahead, as people get older, they taste every moment of the life, where they get to know many things and gain valuable knowledge. This is due to the fact that every year they pass on teaches new things, which they can utilize in making the decisions accurately. Moreover, they might know what's right for them or others while giving suggestions, which makes them to change their opinions depending on the condition. From my point of view, their expertise is the main factor leading them to choose the correct path. Although not everyone will have sufficient capacity to provide solutions, they eventually can make a greater impact by selecting the right option, and it makes them easy because they are aware of the circumstances. To illustrate, a person can change his opinion while voting in elections by depending on what he has observed during the previous years. This can even influence other people based on his observations. Hence, this becomes a valuable thing as they choose the best path even though they are old.
To recapitulate, from the information aforementioned, we can state that it is common for members to alter their habits and opinions even though they are getting older. The reason is they have diverse choices as per their respective age, and their proven knowledge of many years has also made their life easier to opt for the right option that will align with their goals.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. You have provided relevant reasons for why habits and opinions change, such as physical limitations and the accumulation of life experience. The ideas are extended and supported with examples, such as the athlete and the voter. However, the development is occasionally repetitive, and some arguments could be more concisely expressed to improve the impact. To reach a higher band, ensure that each paragraph introduces a distinct, well-developed point rather than restating the premise in different ways.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You use a range of cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore', 'Additionally', and 'To recapitulate' to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical or forced, and the referencing is occasionally imprecise, such as the use of 'themselves' in the opening sentence. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the two main arguments. The progression of ideas is generally clear, though the flow between sentences could be smoother to achieve a more natural, sophisticated feel.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, including phrases like 'contemporary world', 'valuable knowledge', and 'align with their goals'. There are some instances of slightly unnatural collocations or word choices, such as 'landing at a good conclusion' (reaching a conclusion) and 'taste every moment of the life' (experience life). While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more precise word choice. You attempt to use less common vocabulary, which is a positive step, but you should focus on ensuring these terms are used in their correct idiomatic context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you successfully use complex sentences, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation, such as 'as long as people become older' (as people get older) and 'which well suits his body' (which suits his body well). Subject-verb agreement and article usage are occasionally inconsistent. Despite these errors, the meaning remains clear throughout the response. To improve, focus on refining your use of relative clauses and ensuring that verb tenses are used consistently when discussing general truths.
