Student answer (Band 6.0)

It's really common for individuals to alternate their habits and their opinion as when they grow up. I partly agree with the given statement, the reasons are discussed in upcoming paragraphs.

On the one hand side, I believe people change their habit's and opinions when they get older because sometimes changes are good for them to have strong relationship with their families. To explain it, some of the habits and opinions which don't have good consequences so to alternate the view is the best way to maintain balance in the life. For example, Its my personal example which I want to share. My grandfather is addicted to drugs and he use to take drugs twice in a day which is really bad for not only his health ,however for family members as the consumption of drugs, if anyone stop him .He start to fight with that person that create family conflicts. As a result, with a lot of care and love he finally get rid from drugs and change his habit with family support.

On the other hand side, some of individuals stay on their opinions and views even no one can change it either they own not because of their personal reasons and they might think that they are always correct towards their habit and opinions. For exemplify, My brother wants to become a musician although he belong to well known doctors family so no one support him to pursue his career in a musician and he take his own decision to become a great musician and he do a lot hard work to achieve it and now he is musician. As a conclusion, he never changed his opinion and never give-up. If someone have confidence do not change your habit and opinion instead of prove it that your opinions is right and good for all.

From my view of perspective, we should have to be flexible and try to explore and try to do new things rather than stuck on one habit or thing. Moreover, enjoy the life with full of fun and happiness.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both sides of the argument. You provide a clear position in the introduction and maintain it throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. The example regarding your grandfather is relevant but slightly confusing in its phrasing, and the example about your brother is a bit tangential to the core topic of changing habits/opinions as one ages. To improve, ensure that your examples directly illustrate the process of change or stability over time rather than just describing a personal situation. The conclusion is a bit abrupt and could better synthesize the main points discussed in the body paragraphs.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use some cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand side', 'On the other hand side', and 'As a result'. However, some of these are used mechanically or incorrectly, such as 'For exemplify' instead of 'For example'. Additionally, the transition between sentences is sometimes choppy, and the use of referencing (e.g., 'it' referring back to previous ideas) is occasionally unclear. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring they are used naturally would help elevate your score in this criterion.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You have an adequate range of vocabulary to express your ideas, but there are frequent errors in word choice and collocation. For instance, you use 'alternate' when you mean 'alter' or 'change', and 'from my view of perspective' is redundant. There are also some spelling errors, such as 'habit's' (possessive vs. plural) and 'give-up' (should not be hyphenated). While your meaning is generally clear, the lack of precision in word choice limits your ability to convey more sophisticated arguments. Focusing on learning common collocations and checking word forms will help you improve.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'he use to take', 'he start to fight'), incorrect verb tenses, and punctuation errors. For example, 'he belong to well known doctors family' lacks articles and proper possessive forms. While you attempt complex sentences, they are often faulty. To reach a higher band, you need to focus on consistent control of basic grammar, particularly verb tenses and article usage, before attempting more complex structures.
