Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The essay addresses the prompt by agreeing that habits and opinions change with age, providing relevant examples such as shifting attitudes toward marriage and lifestyle changes. However, the response is under the 250-word minimum, which limits the depth of development. While the position is clear, the ideas are somewhat underdeveloped, particularly in the second body paragraph, where the explanation of why habits change is quite brief. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your arguments with more detailed analysis or additional examples to ensure the response is fully developed and meets the length requirement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To begin with,' 'Consequently,' and 'Moving further,' though some transitions feel a bit mechanical. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the connection between sentences within paragraphs could be smoother. For instance, the transition between the general statement about education and the specific example of marriage could be more fluid. Overall, the structure is functional, but more sophisticated linking words and better paragraph internal cohesion would improve the flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. You use some basic terms repeatedly, such as 'habits,' 'opinions,' and 'people.' There are also some awkward collocations and word choices, such as 'with their growing age' (should be 'as they age') and 'the opinion of seniors are updating' (should be 'the opinions of seniors are evolving'). While the meaning is generally clear, the range of vocabulary is limited, and there is a lack of less common lexical items that would demonstrate a higher level of proficiency.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('the opinion of seniors are updating'), incorrect article usage, and punctuation errors, such as missing spaces after commas and periods. The phrase 'I am completely agree' is a common error; it should be 'I completely agree.' While the errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your points, they are frequent enough to limit the score. Focusing on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and punctuation would significantly improve your accuracy.
