Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 168 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you state your position clearly in the introduction, the supporting arguments are underdeveloped and lack sufficient depth. For example, the point about online shopping is introduced but not effectively linked back to the core argument of changing habits and opinions due to aging. To improve, you must expand your paragraphs with more detailed explanations and relevant examples to fully address the prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the flow of ideas is often disjointed. While you use basic transition signals like 'to begin with' and 'more over', the logical progression between sentences is weak. The connection between the idea of teenagers maturing and the example of online shopping is not clearly established, making the argument feel fragmented. Additionally, the use of referencing is sometimes unclear, which hinders the overall readability of the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and repetitive. You rely on basic terms such as 'thoughts', 'lifestyle', and 'things'. There are also several informal or incorrect word choices, such as 'coz of they go flow' and 'sale things'. Spelling errors, such as 'folowing', 'habbits', and 'openions', are frequent and detract from the professional tone required for an IELTS essay. To achieve a higher score, you should aim to use a wider range of precise vocabulary and ensure correct spelling.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement, such as 'most of the adults priorities' and 'habbits and openions gone be change'. Punctuation is also problematic, with missing capital letters at the start of sentences and improper use of symbols like '&'. The sentence structures are mostly simple, and attempts at more complex sentences often result in errors. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would be beneficial.
