Student answer (Band 6.0)
Introduction:
It is very common for people to change both their habits and their opinions as they get older. I completely agree with this statement because from my experience I have seen many people who changed their priorities, lifestyle and habits as they grow older.
First, I would like to describe about an incident which happened During my school days. When I was in school, I had two friends who were very active in their studies, sports and extracurricular activities. We discussed becoming doctor in future and planned to study medicine. However, as time passed, they chose different fields of study according to their interests. Although they had previously committed to becoming doctors, they eventually changed their minds.
Second, I would like to Describe myself. I was very lazy when I was a child but now after becoming a mother my lifestyle completely changed. Now I am very disciplined, hardworking and smart. In every individual life has a different role such as being a child, a mother, a father, a sister, and a brother to fulfil our roles we need to change our habits. Unexpected responsibilities may arise unexpectedly in our lives we need to be prepared. This is what happened in my own life, and I successfully changed my habits and opinions. In addition, I would like to describe how my husband’s life changed. He grew up in poverty, and it was extremely difficult for him to meet his basic needs. However, through hard work and determination, he overcame these difficulties. He changed his attitude, developed better habits and achieved the goals he had set for himself. His experience demonstrates that changing one’s mindset and habits can lead to a better life.
In conclusion, that it is very common for people to change both their habits and their opinions as they get older.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt by clearly stating an agreement and providing relevant examples from personal experience. The ideas are relevant, such as the shift in career goals, the impact of parenthood on personal discipline, and the influence of life circumstances on character development. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the discussion on the husband's life is a bit brief and could have been more deeply connected to the broader theme of how age and experience specifically drive these changes. To reach a higher band, ensure that each example is fully explained to show the 'why' and 'how' behind the change in habits and opinions.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. There is a logical flow from the introduction to the personal examples. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'I would like to describe'. Transitions between sentences could be smoother to improve the overall flow. While the paragraphing is sufficient, the conclusion is very abrupt and lacks a summary of the main points discussed, which limits the overall coherence of the piece.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are some attempts at using more specific vocabulary, such as 'disciplined', 'determination', and 'priorities'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there is a reliance on simple, repetitive phrasing. Some word choices are slightly unnatural, such as 'describe about an incident'. To improve, the student should focus on using a wider variety of collocations and more sophisticated synonyms to avoid repetitive sentence structures and to demonstrate a more flexible command of the language.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors, such as 'In every individual life has a different role' (which is syntactically awkward) and 'Unexpected responsibilities may arise unexpectedly' (which is redundant). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are minor errors in capitalization and sentence construction. The student demonstrates an ability to use complex sentences, but these are often where the errors occur. Increasing the frequency of error-free sentences and refining the use of complex structures will help improve this score.
