Student answer (Band 6.5)
At some point of time, an individual's transition from a childhood to adulthood brings several changes in their day-to-day habits and opinions. I firmly believe that change is mainly due to responsibilities and therapidly changing world around us.
The primary reason of supporting my view is that people tend to take more responsibilities when they grow up in life and adopt habits which benefit them. During an early face of life, a child has limited opinions towards life, but when once the person grows up and learns more, it inculcate them with changed opinions regarding a certain topic. In addition, teenagers tend to have a certain stance regarding relationship, but it changes when they get married to someone at later stage of life. For instance, it is quite evident to see immense changes in a married man's habits once they get married which includes their daily bed time routine, hobbies, and thoughts as well.
A further point worth considering is that the world around us evolving daily, and so is the technology. Our parents used to have negative opinions about the social media platforms, however, they itself are using social media platform to communicate with each other. It is all because the technology has forced people to change their habits and opinions at later stage of life as it becomes necessity.
Taking these points into account, I remain convinced that it is very common for people to change both their habits and opinions due to increased responsibilities and keeping themselves updated with this technology driven era.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses the prompt clearly and maintains a consistent position throughout. The ideas are relevant, focusing on personal responsibility and the influence of technology. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the example regarding marriage is a good start but could be expanded to explain exactly how opinions shift rather than just stating that they do. The conclusion effectively summarizes the main points. To reach a higher band, ensure that each supporting point is fully explored with more depth and specific detail to avoid over-generalization.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas. Cohesive devices such as 'The primary reason', 'In addition', and 'A further point' are used to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing, such as 'they itself are using', which disrupts the flow. Improving the variety of cohesive links and ensuring pronouns clearly refer to their antecedents would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task. You use some good phrases like 'technology driven era' and 'immense changes'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'early face of life' (likely meant 'phase') and 'it inculcate them' (incorrect verb form). These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of your expression. To improve, focus on learning collocations and ensuring that word forms match the grammatical context of the sentence.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement and article usage, such as 'the world around us evolving' (missing 'is') and 'they itself are using'. Punctuation is generally functional, but the frequency of these minor errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and ensuring verb tenses are consistent will significantly improve your score.
