Student answer (Band 6.0)

It has been argue that, the way human being thinks and behave is change when they are getting older. I strongly support this thought which will be examine in the forthcoming paragraphs.

There are many reasons why people change their habit when they get aged. Firstly, due to the physical strength people change their life style. In other words, during their adult life people used to spent more time on maintaining their work-life balance. They spent almost 8 to 10 hours in their office and when they come back home either they give some time to their body and do some workouts or having family time. But, after getting old they retired from their work and they do not have something to do in order to pass their time which leads to fitness problems. To over come this, they change their diet and habit to focus more on their health. For example, as per my own experience i observed that my grandfather changed his diet and daily lifestyle in order to maintain his health. Everyday, he take me to the garden and do some yoga and other exercise with me in order to be fit.

Secondly, the responsibilities of the people is being changed after getting older. That is to say, when a person is adult he/she is the breadwinner for a family but when they get aged he/she care taker for their family. To be more precise, after getting old, people spent their most time at home and take care of their grand children.

On the other hand, there are certain circumstances in which people have to change their habits and opinion. For example, if people infected in the deadly decease they have to change their habit and diet. In another case, if people get to know about that the decision that they made will attributes towards loss then they have to change their opinion. But, I believe that, this situtation is quite minimal and changing habit and thinking mostly depends on the the age

Taking everything into account, one can conclude that, age is the key factor for changing habit and thinking over the bad circumstances.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by agreeing that habits and opinions change with age. The position is clear throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. The first body paragraph provides a relevant example regarding the grandfather, but the second paragraph regarding responsibilities is quite brief and lacks specific illustration. The final paragraph introduces a new point about 'bad circumstances' which is slightly confusing and not fully integrated into the main argument. To improve, ensure each main idea is supported by a clear, detailed example or explanation to fully develop the argument.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. Cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', 'On the other hand', and 'Taking everything into account' are used to link ideas. However, some transitions are mechanical, and there are instances where the flow is slightly disrupted by awkward phrasing, such as 'In another case, if people get to know about that the decision that they made will attributes towards loss'. Improving the variety and naturalness of cohesive links would enhance the overall flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'breadwinner' and 'forthcoming', but there are also persistent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'get aged' instead of 'age' or 'grow older', and 'infected in the deadly decease' instead of 'affected by a deadly disease'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do indicate a need for more precise vocabulary usage.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with verb forms and articles, such as 'It has been argue that', 'human being thinks', and 'he/she care taker'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary commas appearing frequently. While the writer attempts complex sentences, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and consistent tense usage would significantly improve the accuracy of the writing.
