Student answer (Band 6.0)
As people are growing older their way of adapting things along with their perspective about certain aspects tend to change. I strongly agree with this and will be discussing the same in following task.
As we are young everything feels like an excitement; we just want to feel each and every adventure as well as want every experience of the life as it is the time to explore and as our circle changes our viewpoints also tends to change. For instance, when I was a child my culture seems perfect to me I just follow certain practices and my opinion about everything is almost same just like my parents but as I reached to Canada in order for my studies, I explore the world and my habit completely changed like back home I never stayed awaked until 11pm but in Canada I always prefers a night shift. So, I am getting older I am gaining more and more experience my way of living life is changing completely.
On the other hand, I also disagree with this to somehow as I am changing my habits aa per according to my lifestyle here in Canada but my beliefs are still the same like the biggest difference here I see is calling everyone with their respective names but I always use a sir or madam which makes a huge difference in the conversation.
To conclude, I strongly agree that people’s opinions will shift as they are getting older but they will not change themselves completely.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear position, though the development of ideas is somewhat inconsistent. You provide a personal example regarding your move to Canada to support your argument, which is relevant. However, the second body paragraph introduces a contradictory point that is not fully integrated into your overall argument, leading to a slightly confused conclusion. To improve, ensure that your supporting points consistently reinforce your main thesis rather than undermining it. The ideas are generally relevant, but they could be more thoroughly extended to reach a higher band score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or inaccurate. For example, the transition 'On the other hand, I also disagree with this to somehow' is awkward and grammatically incorrect. Additionally, the flow between sentences is occasionally choppy, such as in the second paragraph where the transition between your childhood experiences and your current life in Canada feels abrupt. Using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring they are used in the correct context would significantly improve the logical flow of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific language, such as 'perspective', 'practices', and 'lifestyle'. However, there are instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'adapting things' instead of 'adapting to new situations' and 'stayed awaked' instead of 'stayed awake'. The range of vocabulary is somewhat limited, relying on basic structures. To achieve a higher score, try to incorporate more precise academic collocations and avoid repetitive phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the reader's understanding. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('viewpoints also tends to change'), incorrect verb tenses ('my culture seems perfect'), and awkward phrasing ('as per according to'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While your meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and tense consistency would be a very effective way to improve your score.
