Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is quite normal for people to adept new habits and opinions in accordance to their age. I completely agree with this statement.

To begin with, people generally change their way of thinking as they getting older due to exposure of knowledge. Individuals have access to several forms of educational resources that contributes in constant change in life as well as mindset, for instance, elders had numerous mysterious theories about moon and other planets while after NASSA sent Neel Armstrong on moon, people's perspective about the land of moon changed drastically. Moreover, people in 90`s prefer to perform all the tasks manually however after the invention of new gadgets even elderly people start using them.

Also, it's inevitable that the demands of modern clothes , gadgets, vehicles are increasing with time which depicts the nature of buyers. In this race, IPhone launc new version of their phone each year with different series and people start reserving them before months in advance that shows consumers changing behavior and preference with time. Similar pattern can be seen in clothes industry, for example the brand Zara design new clothes every day to Match people's demands.

In today's modern world it is necessary for people to stay up to date in each sector which makes them aware about the new changes in their surrounding and encourage them to update their lifestyle

In conclusion, I reiterate that the change in people life and daily routine can be notice with time

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by agreeing that habits and opinions change with age. However, the essay is under the 250-word minimum, which negatively impacts the development of ideas. While you provide examples like the moon landing and consumer behavior, the connection between these examples and the core argument—that these changes are specifically linked to 'getting older'—is sometimes tenuous. The argument about consumerism, for instance, describes general societal trends rather than the specific psychological or behavioral shifts that occur as an individual ages. To improve, ensure that every example directly supports the thesis regarding the aging process, and expand your analysis to meet the length requirement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression is occasionally hindered by awkward transitions and sentence structure. You use some cohesive devices like 'To begin with', 'Moreover', and 'In conclusion', but these are sometimes used mechanically. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the final paragraph where the connection between 'staying up to date' and the conclusion feels abrupt. Paragraphing is present, but the ideas within the paragraphs could be more tightly linked to create a smoother flow of argument. Improving the use of cohesive devices to link sentences more naturally would enhance the overall coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, but there are several errors in word choice and spelling that occasionally impede clarity. For example, you use 'adept' instead of 'adopt', 'NASSA' instead of 'NASA', and 'Neel' instead of 'Neil'. Additionally, phrases like 'contributes in constant change' should be 'contributes to a constant change'. While you attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary related to technology and consumerism, the inaccuracies in spelling and collocation prevent a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for common spelling errors and ensuring correct preposition usage will help improve your lexical score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'resources that contributes'), incorrect verb tenses (e.g., 'as they getting older'), and missing articles (e.g., 'in clothes industry'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of apostrophes (e.g., '90`s', 'IPhone launc'). While the meaning is generally clear despite these errors, the frequency of mistakes in basic grammar structures limits the score. You should focus on mastering subject-verb agreement and consistent verb tense usage to improve your accuracy.
