Student answer (Band 6.0)
Change is the part of basic human nature. Individual tend to change their behaviour as well as prospective towards life as they age. I strongly agree with the statement and this essay will discuss possible reasons behind the agreement followed by the conclusion in following paragraphs.
The first and the foremost reason is that humans are build in a way, which allows them to adapt to the environment and conditions around them. It is their own natural instinct. For example, a child is born without any knowledge about language or cultural differences. When they grow older they learn communicating in different languages as they study in schools.
In addition, a person who has been travelling the world for years and who is interacting with group of people everyday, is more likely to adjust his habits as per the living styles and circumstances of that particular community. In my case, I came to Canada 8 years ago, which changed my mind about financial independence and freedom. I was a person who was dependent on my family for money. When I started working, I learned that I could make a living by myself and I will never be a burden to anyone.
In conclusion, with the passage of time an individual’s own experiences and situations play a vital role in shaping one’s mindset as well as changing the habits. However, I totally depends on the person if he/she is eager to learn from others and surrounding or not. Change is the part of the nature.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt clearly and maintains a consistent position throughout. The ideas are relevant, such as the role of environment and personal experience in shaping character. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited; the essay relies on a single personal anecdote to support the argument. While the position is clear, the explanation could be deepened by exploring different types of habits or opinions that change with age to provide a more comprehensive discussion. The conclusion is present but slightly repetitive in its phrasing.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'The first and the foremost reason', 'In addition', and 'In conclusion', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. Referencing is generally clear, though the connection between the final sentence of the second paragraph and the preceding argument is a bit abrupt. Overall, the progression of ideas is logical and easy to follow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'prospective' (though used incorrectly here, as it should be 'perspective') and 'circumstances'. However, there are noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'humans are build' (should be 'built') and 'change is the part of basic human nature'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of the writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('Individual tend', 'it totally depends') and article usage ('the part of basic human nature'). There are also minor errors in verb forms ('humans are build'). While these errors are noticeable, they do not prevent the reader from understanding the writer's argument. To improve, the writer should focus on proofreading for basic agreement and tense consistency.
