Student answer (Band 6.5)
Aging leads to change individuals in various different ways. Many people hold the view that as people's age increases their habits and choices also start changing. I strongly agree with this viewpoint due to many reasons.
On the one hand, aging results in many changes in regards of health, mind and behaviour which paves a path for change in individual's habits. To elaborate on it, as human beings grow and gain more knowledge and experience it results in the changing their viewpoints about distinct changes. To state an example, usually a kid wants to be a teacher or a pilot but as they hit the teenage they want to become something else.
Secondly, as a person gains more experience in their life by travelling as well as interacting with more and more people it leads them to have a different mindset. To explain it, getting to know about several new things is a best way to have a best opinion about them. For example, sometimes individuals hate a particular community regardless of knowing it well but when they interact with them and finds out good things about them then their viewpoint about them may shift to positive from negative.
On the other hand, some people do not change themselves in any way by not caring about what is happening around the world. There is an example to describe it well that even in this modern era a large number of individuals are still following their traditions since they are born despite of their aging which proves that some individuals just prefer to stay same or hold the similar opinions for their whole lives.
In conclusion, although a little count of people do not change by aging, I strongly agree with the given statement that age results in changing opinions and behaviours of many individuals.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have addressed all parts of the prompt, providing a clear position that you agree with the statement. Your ideas are relevant, such as the impact of life experience and travel on personal growth. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the example regarding children wanting to be pilots is a bit simplistic and could have been more deeply explored to show how maturity shifts priorities. While you acknowledge a counter-argument, the explanation of why some people remain unchanged is slightly underdeveloped. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is supported by more detailed reasoning or specific, nuanced examples that demonstrate a deeper engagement with the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You use cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand,' 'Secondly,' and 'In conclusion' to guide the reader. However, some of the transitions feel a bit mechanical or repetitive. For example, the phrase 'To elaborate on it' and 'To explain it' are used in a formulaic way. Additionally, some sentences within paragraphs could be more smoothly linked to improve the flow of ideas. The paragraphing is appropriate, and the progression of the argument is generally easy to follow throughout the response.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific language like 'mindset,' 'behaviours,' and 'traditions.' However, there are instances of imprecise word choice and awkward collocations, such as 'change individuals' instead of 'change individuals' lives' or 'a best way to have a best opinion.' These minor inaccuracies do not impede communication, but they do prevent the vocabulary from being considered 'flexible' or 'sophisticated.' To improve, focus on learning natural word pairings and avoiding the repetition of basic adjectives like 'best' or 'good.'
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While your meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'as they hit the teenage' (should be 'teenage years'), 'finds out good things' (subject-verb agreement error: 'find out'), and 'despite of their aging' (incorrect preposition usage: 'despite their aging'). While you attempt complex sentences, the control over them is inconsistent. To achieve a higher score, focus on correcting these recurring errors in prepositions and subject-verb agreement, and try to vary your sentence structure with more complex clauses used with greater accuracy.
