Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is often argued that people tends to change their habits and opinions as they grow older. I completely agree with it as people change with the time due to life experiences. This essay will elaborate on my viewpoints in the following paragraphs.
To start with, when you reach to certain age that time you have more maturity which helps you to change your habits. For example, young people likes to spend more money in pubs and parties but older switch their focus and prefer to save money for the future. This change can come from the life experiences. Furthermore, some people likes to eat junk when they are young but when same people get old then they think more about health and adopt healthy lifestyle over the period of time.
Opinion also change with time as our mindset , way of thinking are also shift with the time. Young people may have different opinion about dressing but when same people get old they prefer to change their dressing style as they give priority to comfort. Moreover, people learn very important things from their life and they try to learn from the experiences. For instance, young population think that success is all about fame and money but for the old population success is all about family value and satisfied life. They do not prefer to please people on the name to success.
To conclude, people learn a lot from their life experience and try to implement those lessons in their life which is very helpful to live peacefully.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by agreeing that habits and opinions change with age. The position is clear throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive and lacks depth. For instance, the examples provided regarding 'pubs and parties' versus 'saving money' and 'dressing style' are quite simplistic. While the task is addressed, the supporting arguments could be more nuanced to reach a higher band. The essay stays on topic, but the explanation of why these changes occur is limited to general life experience without exploring the psychological or social drivers in greater detail.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To start with', 'Furthermore', and 'Moreover', though some transitions feel a bit mechanical. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the internal structure of sentences sometimes lacks flow due to grammatical issues. Referencing is mostly clear, although the repetition of 'same people' and 'time' makes the text feel slightly disjointed. Overall, the paragraphing is appropriate, and the logical flow is sufficient to guide the reader through the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There is frequent repetition of basic words like 'time', 'people', and 'life'. Some collocations are slightly unnatural, such as 'on the name to success' and 'satisfied life'. While the meaning is always clear, the student relies on a limited set of common vocabulary. To improve, the student should incorporate more precise synonyms and idiomatic expressions related to personal development and maturity.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Subject-verb agreement issues are common, such as 'people tends', 'young people likes', and 'some people likes'. There are also errors with articles and prepositions, such as 'reach to certain age' and 'over the period of time'. While these errors do not prevent understanding, they are frequent enough to impact the overall fluency of the writing. A greater focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy is needed.
