Student answer (Band 6.0)
When people are getting old, their mindset and habits are also getting change. I totally agree with this point as people learn from their life experience and different situations.
Every age has different maturity level and according to that we always think and react on the situation. For example, when I was a kid I was only thinking about me and being selfish with everyone including my parents. I asked for money and when they refused, i got mad on them or cried until they did not agree. Once I turned 20, I realize many things about financial background and understand the value of money. Furthermore, after getting mature, people see their responsibility is not limited to themselves only but also includes family. In addition, our routine is getting changed. For example, a mother who needs to take care of a child and need to spend time with them and also doing professional job.
There are few things that are not affected easily even you grow by age. For Instance, eating habits and laziness. people who love eating sugar or junk food, they still eat even though they are old enough to know the side effects. Few people who are lazy for doing things such as work, exercise or mange regular routine never change even though they are mature enough.
I believe that once you are getting old then you can feel and understand the situation and observe things in life. Some experience also affects the way you are thinking of anything and behaviour towards people.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear position and providing relevant examples. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you provide a personal example regarding childhood selfishness and a general example about motherhood, the discussion on why habits like 'laziness' do not change is less developed. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is fully extended with deeper analysis rather than just listing examples. The conclusion is also quite brief and does not fully synthesize the arguments presented in the body paragraphs.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore', 'In addition', and 'For instance' to link ideas. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly repetitive. Additionally, the transition between the second and third paragraphs is abrupt. To improve, try to use a wider variety of linking words and ensure that the progression of ideas flows more naturally between sentences and paragraphs. Referencing is generally clear, but some sentences feel disconnected.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on common, simple phrasing such as 'getting old' and 'getting changed'. There are also some minor collocation issues, such as 'getting change' instead of 'changing' or 'getting changed'. To improve, incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary related to personal development, such as 'maturation', 'ingrained habits', or 'evolution of perspectives'. The current range is sufficient to convey meaning, but it does not demonstrate the flexibility needed for a higher score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow, such as 'their mindset and habits are also getting change' (should be 'are also changing') and 'I got mad on them' (should be 'at them'). There are also issues with subject-verb agreement and article usage. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focus on mastering basic verb tenses and prepositions to improve overall accuracy.
