Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, it is often argued that changing habits and opinions have become increasingly common as individuals get aged. I strongly agree with this view because they may gain more experience from their mistakes and may become more aware of the bad consequences.
Firstly, older people switch both their habits and their opinions because of their experiences. To explain it, when individuals are adults, they might have less real-world knowledge and they may have limited people in life, as increase of age they have more responsibilities which change their habits like waking up early in morning and eating healthy food , pay bills on time and fees of their children.
Moreover, there is another factor awareness. Mistakes are part of human nature and they may learn more by doing mistakes. When people try new jobs and business and they can make mistakes, they usually learn a number of lesson which change their opinions. For example, adults like to spend more money because they do not know the importance to save money for emergencies, while with age people like to save more money; their preference change in spending which leads change their views and habits.
To conclude, some people opine that elderly individuals modify their routine and views; I believe this statement is true because getting older brings a lot of experience which tends to adapt new perspectives to do their chores and they become aware of human problems such as money which is major in life. So, they try to gain discipline routine.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The ideas are relevant, focusing on the role of experience and the maturation process in changing habits and opinions. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the discussion on financial habits is a good start but could be expanded with more specific examples or deeper analysis to reach a higher band. The conclusion restates the position effectively, but the overall argument remains somewhat superficial. To improve, ensure that each point is fully explored with more detailed reasoning rather than just stating the observation.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. The use of cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Moreover', and 'To conclude' helps guide the reader through the argument. However, some transitions are mechanical, and the flow between sentences is occasionally interrupted by awkward phrasing, such as 'To explain it, when individuals are adults...'. Referencing is generally clear, but the connection between ideas could be smoother. The paragraphing is appropriate, and the progression of ideas is logical, though the internal cohesion within paragraphs could be more sophisticated.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are some attempts to use less common vocabulary, such as 'modify their routine' and 'perspectives', but the range is somewhat limited. Some word choices are slightly unnatural, such as 'get aged' instead of 'age' or 'getting older'. There are also minor issues with collocation, such as 'doing mistakes' instead of 'making mistakes'. To reach a higher band, the student should focus on using more precise collocations and a wider variety of topic-specific vocabulary related to personal development and behavioral change.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'as increase of age' (should be 'as they age') and 'their preference change' (should be 'preferences change'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are some awkward sentence constructions that hinder the flow. The student demonstrates an attempt at complex structures, but these are often where the errors occur. To improve, the student should focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of prepositions and articles to ensure more error-free sentences.
