Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is focused on the habits and opinions of the public which is getting old day by day. I am agreed with this because I also felt the same in my own life journey.
However, people do change their mind frequently according to the situation and understanding. For example, my grandmother, she is no more with us now but when she was there, she starts behaving like a child and her opinions are disturbing all of us as she is getting elder day by day, like before she takes medicine by her own without forgetting but sometimes she was pretending like a small kid that she do not want to take medication. Moreover, we just cannot force anyone but we can make them understand that time.
Furthermore, now my grandfather, he is doing the same and I heard many experiences from my friends and relatives, so I felt that every person who is growing old their habits and the way of thinking changes. For instance, my grandfather, he is like whatever he want to do he will, not listening to anything that what is right or what is wrong. Before he likes to go to walk but now he does not like to go for it. Therefore, the routine changes of the person.
To conclude, people adapt the changes occurs knowingly or unknowingly, and their habits and the way of thinking changes due to their age factor and it is hugely common for them. So, I obviously agree whit the statement because I have seen this drastic change in my own home and I think it's very normal. We should cooperate with elder people and try to understand them.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The essay addresses the prompt by agreeing that habits and opinions change with age. However, the development is limited. The response relies heavily on personal anecdotes about family members rather than exploring the broader societal or psychological reasons for these changes. While the position is clear, the ideas are somewhat repetitive and lack depth. The focus remains on specific family behaviors rather than a balanced discussion of the topic. To reach a higher band, you should expand your arguments to include general observations about human development, life experiences, or changing societal values, rather than focusing solely on individual examples.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as the repetitive use of 'For example' and 'Furthermore'. Some transitions feel forced, and the logical flow between sentences is occasionally disrupted by awkward phrasing. For instance, the transition between the introduction and the first body paragraph is abrupt. While there is an overall progression, the lack of sophisticated linking words and the reliance on simple connectors limit the coherence of the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You use basic terms like 'getting old' and 'small kid' repeatedly. There are also some word-choice errors, such as 'I am agreed' instead of 'I agree' and 'whit' instead of 'with'. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of less common lexical items and the presence of spelling errors prevent a higher score. To improve, try to incorporate more academic vocabulary related to aging, such as 'cognitive decline', 'perspective', or 'adaptability'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Examples include 'she is no more with us now but when she was there, she starts behaving' (tense inconsistency) and 'whatever he want to do he will' (subject-verb agreement). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the meaning is usually understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar and sentence construction suggests a need for more careful proofreading and a focus on mastering verb tenses and agreement.
