Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 152 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you clearly state your position in the introduction and conclusion, the supporting arguments are underdeveloped. For example, the points about lifestyle changes and shifts in opinion are mentioned but lack the depth and specific, well-supported examples required for a higher band. To improve, you must expand on your reasoning and provide more detailed illustrations to fully address the prompt.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Furthermore', and 'In conclusion' to signal the structure. However, the flow within paragraphs is sometimes disjointed due to grammatical errors and limited linking words. For instance, the transition between the idea of team work and the example provided is abrupt. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of cohesive devices and ensuring that sentences within paragraphs are more smoothly connected to one another.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task but remains quite basic and repetitive. There are several spelling errors, such as 'individule' instead of 'individual' and 'yuger' instead of 'younger'. You also rely on simple collocations like 'diet food' or 'go gym'. To achieve a higher band, you should aim to incorporate more precise and varied vocabulary, such as 'maturation', 'perspective', or 'sedentary habits', and ensure that your spelling is accurate throughout the text.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'when a individual get older' (subject-verb agreement), 'I am strongly agree' (incorrect verb form), and 'when someone don't like' (subject-verb agreement). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and sentence structure. Increasing the variety of complex sentences while ensuring they remain error-free will also help raise your score.
