Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt by taking a clear position that people do change their habits and opinions as they get older, and supports this with relevant examples regarding technological advancements and societal education. Ideas are extended, although some arguments, such as the discussion on e-learning and social media influencers, tend to over-generalize and could be further elaborated for greater depth. Nevertheless, a clear overall position is maintained throughout the essay. The response fully satisfies the task requirements and falls comfortably into Band 6.5, rounded to 6.0 due to some under-developed ideas.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction and conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately, with each body paragraph focusing on a distinct reason (technological advancements and societal education). However, cohesion at the sentence level is sometimes faulty or mechanical. For instance, phrases like 'By dint of this' and transitional phrases are occasionally awkward or misused. Referencing is also not always clear, such as the pronoun use in 'teen accessing social media get influence from the other persons life'. Overall logical progression is present, earning a solid Band 6.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common lexical items such as 'technological advancements', 'cognitive ability', and 'multifarious grooming courses'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text, including 'soceital' instead of 'societal', 'recepies' instead of 'recipes', 'decisons' instead of 'decisions', and 'indvidual' instead of 'individual'. These errors do not seriously impede communication, but they restrict the lexical score to Band 6.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing relative clauses and participial phrases such as 'by providing real life results, cooking recepies and other educational stuff.' However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'growth of individual', 'when the person get older', 'teen accessing... get influence', 'classes also plays') and missing articles. Punctuation and phrasing also show minor slips. Because errors occur frequently but rarely impede overall communication, this performance aligns well with Band 6.0.
