Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.5
The response attempts to address the prompt regarding whether people change habits and opinions as they age, taking a clear stance ('I am agree for this statment'). However, the response fails to meet the minimum length requirement of 250 words, coming in at only 208 words. Furthermore, the development of ideas is severely limited and cut short, particularly in the conclusion which trails off incomplete ('than their'). While the writer introduces two main reasons—lifestyle shifts and changes in accommodation—these points remain under-developed and are accompanied by vague supporting evidence, such as an unconvincing reference to a University of California study. Due to the under-length penalty and insufficient idea extension, the task achievement score is limited to Band 4.5.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0
The text exhibits some organizational structure through the use of transitional markers like 'Out of all', 'Moreover', and 'In cuncluson'. However, the overall progression is frequently disrupted by awkward phrasing, run-on sentences, and mechanical cohesive devices. Paragraphing is attempted, but the final paragraph is incomplete and abrupt, severely impacting the structural flow. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the mechanical repetition of sentence starters creates a choppy reading experience. Overall, the organizational flaws and incomplete conclusion align this response with Band 4.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.0
The lexical resource is basic and repetitive, frequently hindered by severe spelling and word-choice errors. Examples of incorrect spellings and forms appear throughout the text, including 'child hood', 'ruutines', 'yunger' (younger), 'hoomework', 'plaing', 'vedio', 'accomodation', 'unfotunetly', and 'unnesessory'. The vocabulary lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher bands, and these recurring inaccuracies occasionally impede communication and place a heavy strain on the reader. Consequently, the lexical performance sits firmly at Band 4.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
Grammatical control is weak, with a very limited range of sentence structures attempted. Most complex structures contain noticeable errors, such as 'I am agree for this statment' and 'when they rae getting their education then they are living wiht their parents'. There are persistent errors in subject-verb agreement, tense consistency, prepositions, and article usage. The high frequency of grammatical errors frequently causes difficulty for the reader and distorts meaning, particularly in longer, run-on sentences. This level of grammatical accuracy and limited structural range corresponds to a Band 4.0.
