Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is often said that people intend to change their views and the way of interacting as they grow. I personally agree with this statement and the reasons with relevant illustrations are mentioned in the following paragraphs.
To begin with, when the parents are upbringing their children, they teach their young ones how to behave with everyone. The adults, on the other hand intend to deal with things from their fellow classmates. It is well said that - "What you see is what you learn". However, with this fast-paced life, there are considerable changes which are noticeable, and therefore every individual should change their lifestyle and views towards it.
Secondly, there also might be some negative effects on changing their lives. To illustrate this, the professor teaches the student how to be gentle and well-mannered towards others. But, sometimes they might see how to make arguments from their mates. As they grow, they come across more people and they face many situations where they could show their opinions and learn from it. For instance, if someone is lazy and not able to change this habit even after getting hired in a reputed company, they be fired by the department.
Therefore, it is said that changes should be made in everyone's personality in order to perfom well in any situation. This could also be helpful in maintaining peace amongst the family and friends. Adding to it, it also helps a student to do well in their academic progess if they adopts good qualities and try to enhance it.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position that people tend to change their habits and opinions as they age. Relevant ideas are introduced, such as the influence of parents during childhood versus peer and workplace pressures in adulthood. However, some of the ideas are underdeveloped or lack clear illustration. For instance, the paragraph discussing negative effects shifts into a discussion about laziness and losing a job, which only loosely connects to the overall theme of evolving habits and opinions. While all parts of the task are addressed, the arguments and examples would benefit from deeper extension and clearer logical links to fully satisfy the higher band descriptors. Overall, the performance aligns with a Band 6.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The response is arranged with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion, showing an overall progression. Paragraphing is used to separate main ideas, though the logical transitions between paragraphs are sometimes mechanical or abrupt, such as the sudden shift in the third paragraph beginning with "Secondly, there also might be some negative effects...". Cohesive devices like "To begin with" and "Therefore" are employed, but referencing and logical flow can be occasionally unclear or repetitive, as seen in the slightly disjointed reasoning within the body sections. Paragraphing is generally sufficient, but internal cohesion requires more flexibility for a higher band. This represents a solid Band 6 performance.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The writer demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common expressions such as "fast-paced life," "well-mannered," and "academic progress." However, there are notable word choice and collocation errors that detract from precision, such as "parents are upbringing their children" (should be 'bringing up'), "perfom well" (spelling error), and "if they adopts" (agreement error combined with vocabulary choice). These errors do not impede overall communication, but they reflect limitations in lexical control that cap the score at Band 6.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including conditional structures like "if someone is lazy and not able to change this habit... they be fired". However, there is a noticeable frequency of grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ("parents are upbringing", "they be fired"), missing articles, and tense inconsistencies. While these errors rarely completely impede understanding, they demonstrate a lack of consistent control over complex structures. The frequency and nature of these inaccuracies place this response firmly in the Band 5.5 to 6.0 range, leaning toward a Band 6 for adequate communication despite errors.
