Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The candidate addresses all parts of the task by presenting a clear, though partially developed, position agreeing that people change habits and opinions over time. The essay includes relevant ideas, such as life exposure and the aging factor, supported by examples like parental understanding and a mother's blogging channel. However, some ideas are briefly stated and under-developed, such as the concluding warning about maintaining one's identity. The response is divided into logical sections, though certain arguments could have been extended further to reach a higher descriptor band. Overall, the task is addressed adequately, fulfilling the requirements for a Band 6.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The text demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement with clear paragraphing, separating the introduction, body points, and conclusion. Cohesive devices are utilized, such as 'moreover', 'first and foremost', 'additionally', and 'in conclusion', though their application is at times mechanical or somewhat abrupt. Referencing is generally clear, and the logical progression moves reasonably from introducing the topic to discussing life exposure and aging. However, the transitional flow between sentences can feel disjointed due to grammatical and structural fragmentation. On balance, the organizational structure meets the criteria for a Band 6.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The candidate demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items and topic-related phrases such as 'exposure of life', 'contemporary world', and 'blogging channel'. However, there are notable spelling and word-choice errors throughout the response, including 'differnt' instead of 'different', 'sitauion' instead of 'situation', 'thir' instead of 'their', 'si' instead of 'is', 'uour' instead of 'your', 'expereince', and 'manintain'. While these errors do not impede overall communication, they reflect the limitations characteristic of a Band 5.0 level.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response exhibits a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some ambition in sentence structure. However, grammatical accuracy is weak, with frequent errors in punctuation, subject-verb agreement, and clause structure. Examples include 'i am partially agree' instead of 'I partially agree', 'people change with differnt people and differnt sitauion came in thir life' (comma splices and phrasing issues), and missing articles or capitalization errors. These frequent errors and awkward phrasings cause occasional difficulty for the reader and prevent the grammar score from reaching a higher band, comfortably placing this performance at a Band 5.0.
