Student answer (Band 6.0)

No doubt, human nature is changed with the time and it is really common for individuals to change both their habits and opinion with the time as they get older. I am agree with the statement and I will discuss why and how habits and opinions are changed with time in upcoming paragraphs.

To begin with, there are numerous reasons why people change both their habits and opinions as they get older. First and foremost, as people getting older they have more experience and knowedgle about things, which is the main reason to change. For example, most of the individuals have different kinds of habit when they young but when they become mature those habits were changed. Secondly, in the past most of the people trust in myths, which also have effect on their opinion but nowadays everyone awer about everything which also change their opinions about different aspects.

Furthermore, In the past they don't have resources to know about many things and their opinions were also limited but in this modern era due to technology they search everything online which helps to change their opinion. Apart from that, if we talk about habits in childhood all the kids have different habits they like to play, go outside with family and friends most of the time they like to stay with others but when they are mature and have hectic schedule then they like to spent time alone and for relaxation they like tp listen music and do yoga.

In conclusion, no doubt habits and opinions are change with the time because human nature is change they are more mature and experienced when the time pass and they know what is best to do, so they take their decisions according to new thinking.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt directly by agreeing with the statement and attempting to provide reasons and examples regarding why people change their habits and opinions as they get older. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the student states that people gain experience and knowledge, but this point remains underdeveloped and is reiterated in different words throughout the essay rather than being expanded with specific, distinct examples. While a clear position is maintained throughout the writing, the generalizations tend to lack depth. The conclusion merely restates earlier points without bringing fresh synthesis. Consequently, the performance aligns best with the Band 6 descriptors, as all parts of the task are addressed, but certain ideas remain under-developed and circular.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used to separate different thoughts, such as the discussion on opinions versus habits in later paragraphs. However, cohesive devices are sometimes mechanical or repetitive, as seen with phrases like 'To begin with,' 'Secondly,' and 'Furthermore.' Additionally, referencing and logical progression are occasionally flawed, particularly in the third paragraph where sentences like 'In the past they don't have resources' lack a clear antecedent for the pronoun 'they.' Transition between ideas feels abrupt at times. Therefore, the cohesion is somewhat faulty, placing the response firmly at Band 6.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully communicating everyday concepts relating to aging, habits, and opinions. Words like 'mature,' 'experience,' 'technology,' and 'relaxation' are used correctly. However, there are notable spelling errors ('knowedgle' instead of knowledge, 'awer' instead of aware) and awkward word choices ('human nature is changed' instead of human nature changes). The student attempts less common vocabulary, but these attempts are often accompanied by inaccuracies in form or collocation. Because the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the message despite these noticeable errors and spelling lapses, a score of 5.5 is appropriate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response incorporates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, though complex structures are frequently marred by errors. Examples include 'I am agree' (instead of agree), 'as people getting older' (instead of get older), and tense inconsistencies such as 'most of the individuals have different kinds of habit when they young but when they become mature those habits were changed.' Punctuation and article usage are also occasionally problematic. While the meaning is generally clear and does not severely impede communication, the frequency of basic grammatical slips and faulty complex structures prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Thus, a score of 5.5 accurately reflects the grammatical control demonstrated.
