Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response only minimally addresses the prompt about whether people change habits and opinions as they get older, focusing instead on a personal struggle with attachment and habits. Furthermore, the response suffers from a severe length penalty, containing only 83 words, which falls far short of the 250-word minimum requirement. Because of the extreme under-length and limited development of ideas, the response aligns closely with the Band 4 descriptors for Task Achievement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0
The text lacks proper paragraphing and is presented as a single, run-on block of text. Cohesive devices are minimal, relying mostly on repetitive connectors like 'and' or 'also' (e.g., 'its not easy for me because... its not easy for me... it is also not easy beacause...'). There is no clear overall progression or logical sequencing of ideas, which severely impacts readability. These features reflect the Band 4 descriptors for Coherence and Cohesion.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.0
The vocabulary is very basic and repetitive, utilizing everyday words such as 'things', 'habit', 'easy', and 'love'. There are several word choice and spelling errors, such as 'beacause' and 'sombody', and incorrect phrasing like 'attach with sombody' instead of 'become attached to someone'. The range of vocabulary is severely limited and strains the reader's understanding at times, placing the response in Band 4.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
The grammatical range is extremely limited, consisting mostly of poorly controlled simple or run-on structures linked by commas without proper punctuation (e.g., 'yes ,its common things to change habits and their opinions but its not easy for me because habits is that things i do daily...'). There are frequent errors in verb forms, subject-verb agreement ('habits is that things'), and sentence boundaries. This demonstrates very limited control, fitting the Band 4 descriptors.
