Student answer (Band 5.0)

Due to the getting ages it is normal that people change their behaviour and thoughts. I'm strongly agree with this statement. When the child born and to the end of his/her life a lot things happen in thier life.

First of all I want explain about when the people in thier early age they usally go to school and thier learning capability is higher than other elder people. Their thought, ideas and vision is in different strategy. The memory power is very high and capture anything easily. Childern can follow the good routine by their parents where they can change thier behavioural activites in a good manner. If I give some examples about me, there is several transformation happen in my life. Now I'm young adult man if I give the information about the changes of habits and thoughts, its totally different than my childhood. I'm full time employed at the moment so I follow the completely differt routine and activites that I do now is completely not similar than previous.

When people getting older thier mentality is quite stranger than before they do have. Due to lack of physical strength the elderly people cannot think as much as like the younger do. However, the maturity is less in young people. If I talk about the hobbies it may differ from the generation to generation. There is a huge gap between the ideas created by young and old people. Somehow management of habits like respect and loving nature may be permanent.

In conclusion, I can definately say nature build of by the people in early age is quite different when they getting old. The way they present in thier daily life activities may vary from younger and elder. So, that I'm strongly agreed with the statement.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by discussing how people change habits and opinions as they age, taking a clear stance ('I'm strongly agree with this statement'). The ideas are relevant and supported with some general explanation and a brief personal example, as seen when the writer states, 'Now I'm young adult man if I give the information about the changes of habits and thoughts, its totally different than my childhood.' However, some ideas remain under-developed or briefly stated, and the arguments drift into slightly disconnected points regarding elderly and younger mindsets without fully synthesising a comprehensive discussion. Overall, it satisfies the requirements for Band 5.5 to 6.0, as all parts are addressed with relevant ideas, though development is somewhat limited.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay displays a basic overall arrangement with paragraphing used to separate the introduction, body points, and conclusion. However, the progression of ideas is frequently disrupted by awkward referencing and a lack of smooth transitions. Phrases like 'First of all I want explain about when the people in thier early age' and 'Due to the getting ages' create a clunky flow. Cohesive devices are often inadequate, inaccurate, or repetitive, making the connections between sentences strained. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion within paragraphs lacks the control needed for a higher band. These organizational weaknesses align with a Band 5.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, but it is basic and repetitive, featuring frequent errors in word choice and collocation. Examples include 'Due to the getting ages', 'thier learning capability', and 'young adult man'. Words like 'differt' and 'activites' also reveal spelling issues. While the writer attempts less common phrases such as 'generational gap' or discussing 'behavioural activites', inaccuracies in form and usage frequently occur. The lexical range is minimally adequate to convey simple ideas, fitting the Band 5.0 descriptor.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The student uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but attempts at complex structures are frequently faulty. There are persistent grammatical errors throughout the text, such as missing prepositions, incorrect subject-verb agreement ('mentality is quite stranger than before they do have'), and incorrect phrasing ('I'm strongly agree'). Punctuation is also erratic, with missing spaces after commas and periods. Although these errors do not completely obscure the meaning, their high frequency causes noticeable difficulty for the reader, placing the grammar performance firmly at Band 5.0.
