Student answer (Band 6.5)
Nowadays, it is prevalent that most of the individuals alter their habits and perspectives as they grow older. I completely agree with this belief because aging brings new responsibilities and life experiences which can significantly influence the way people think and behave. This essay will discuss points of agreement in the forthcoming paragraphs.
It is undeniable that people's habits often change considerably as they get older. The primary reason is that they face many different responsibilities at various stages of life. There is not an ounce of doubt that when people enter in adulthood they may focus on various things such as career, families, and personal well-being, which often leads to adopt more disciplined lifestyle. Consequently, they become more cautious about where they should spend their time and energy effectively. For instance, many youngsters enjoying staying up late and spending their time on entertainment whereas, older peole are more likely to wake up early or may follow more scheduled life, managing their activities to stay healthy. As compared to teenagers, older people may significantly place more importance to stability and health. Therefore, their daily habits change upon time.
Moving forward, people's opinions also changed as they gain new experiences of life. This is because with the new exposures of different situations in the world can broadens their knowledge and thinking. Distinct aspects of life such as study, travel, relationships with family and society can considerably change their beliefs and make them to manage every situation with confidently and thoughtfully. For instance, during younger age, peole like to do more adventurous and risk-taking activities. However, these can be eliminated or lessened when they enter in adulthood or older age as they begin to think more about financial stability and long-term goals. Hence, they star thniking more maturily.
To conclude, It is irrefutable that people can change their habits and views as they get older because of new responsibilities and experience of distinct stages of life which tend them to focus more on their health, stability, and long-term effects of their actions.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response fully addresses all parts of the prompt by taking a clear and well-developed position on whether people change their habits and opinions as they age. The student provides a coherent argument divided into habit changes and opinion shifts, supporting these points with logical reasoning and general examples, such as lifestyle alterations from youth to adulthood and shifting priorities towards financial stability. The main ideas are extended adequately throughout the essay, demonstrating a solid understanding of the task requirements. While some ideas could be explored in even greater depth to reach the highest band levels, the response satisfies the requirements of a Band 7.0 effectively by maintaining a clear position and supporting all main points with relevant explanations.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay presents a clear logical organisation and progression throughout. The introduction successfully outlines the writer's stance, and each body paragraph focuses on a distinct central theme (habits and opinions respectively), followed by an appropriate concluding summary. Cohesive devices are used reasonably well, such as 'It is undeniable that', 'Consequently', and 'Moving forward'. However, there are some slightly mechanical transitions and minor referencing issues, such as 'whereas, older peole' and a few punctuation slips around transitional markers. Paragraphing is used sufficiently and appropriately, ensuring the overall progression remains clear and easy to follow, placing the essay comfortably within the Band 6.5 to 7.0 range.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The writer demonstrates an adequate to good range of vocabulary suited to the task, successfully attempting less common items such as 'disciplined lifestyle', 'financial stability', and 'long-term goals'. There are several instances of inappropriate word choice, awkward collocations, and minor lexical slips, such as 'enjoying staying up late' instead of 'enjoy staying', 'broadens their knowledge' with tense agreement issues, and spelling errors like 'peole' and 'maturily' (maturity). Despite these inaccuracies, communication is never impeded, and the vocabulary remains sufficiently flexible to discuss general abstract concepts, aligning well with the Band 6.0 descriptors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The response features a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating attempts at varied structures such as relative clauses and conditional-like constructions (e.g., 'when people enter in adulthood they may focus on...'). However, grammatical control is somewhat inconsistent. There are several noticeable errors in grammar, preposition usage, and word forms, including 'enter in adulthood' (enter adulthood), 'leads to adopt' (leads to adopting), 'opinions also changed' (change), and 'star thniking'. While these errors do occur with some frequency, they rarely impede communication, allowing the response to achieve a solid Band 6.0.
