Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is very common for people to change both their habits and their opinions as they grow older. I agree with that because when they grow up they interact with different people and they get different exposure about life and so many different things. So, these things changes their perspective about life even it impacts on their way of thinking and their habits.
on the one hand, i believe that as time goes on one should change their habits and the way they think to move in this world.Because when a person is a teenager he or she may be surrounded by their parents or siblings only . But as they grow older they have to interact with different people and they move out of their house. So, they have a exposure of the outer world and they get to know what is happening in the world, and it really impacts the thoughts of the person. It impacts their habits and their opinion.
On the other hand,if i talk about the people who do not change themselves, as they grow older and stay firm in their habits or with their old opinions, they will be left behind because every day the world moves one step forward, and they will be left behind.
However, this is very common for people to change their habits and their opinion as they grow older because its benefical for their own grooming.
In conclusion, i would say that most of the people do that and the reasons as i have mentioned above were people who change their habits and opinion as they grow older, get more exposure about the world, and it's beneficial for them.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response clearly addresses the prompt by agreeing that people change their habits and opinions as they grow older, presenting relevant reasons such as increased exposure to the world and personal grooming. Your position is clear from the introduction and maintained throughout the essay. However, some ideas are repetitive and under-developed, particularly when discussing the consequences of not changing. For instance, stating that people 'will be left behind because every day the world moves one step forward' is repeated for emphasis rather than extended with fresh supporting arguments or examples. Overall, all parts of the task are addressed, but the depth of idea development places this response at Band 6.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with clear paragraphing, including an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, cohesion is sometimes faulty or mechanical. You use some cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', 'However', and 'In conclusion', but there are issues with punctuation and capitalization around conjunctions and transitions, such as starting sentences with lowercase letters ('on the one hand, i believe...'). Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the mechanical repetition of transitional phrasing affects the flow. Progression is present, but it lacks the smoother logical transitions characteristic of a higher band, making Band 6.0 an appropriate score.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your basic arguments about habits and opinions. You attempt some less common vocabulary such as 'exposure', 'perspective', and 'grooming', but there are noticeable word choice and collocation inaccuracies, such as 'get different exposure about life' instead of 'gain exposure to different aspects of life'. Additionally, there are repetitive lexical choices ('habits and their opinion', 'grow older', 'left behind'). While these errors do not impede communication, they restrict the lexical range to a Band 6 level.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as conditional and multi-clause sentences ('Because when a person is a teenager he or she may be surrounded...'). However, there are frequent errors in punctuation, capitalization, and grammar, such as missing capital letters at the beginning of sentences ('on the one hand', 'i believe', 'if i talk', 'because its benefical'), missing apostrophes ('benefical'), and run-on structures ('So, these things changes their perspective...'). Subject-verb agreement errors also occur ('things changes'). Because these errors persist throughout the text while communication is generally maintained, the performance fits the Band 5.0 descriptors.
